The Advanced Treble Ensemble is presenting Songs of Sanctuary by Karl Jenkins on Tuesday, April 16 @ 7pm.

This musical work is approximately one hour in length, and is meant to be performed without interruption or applause. The lyrics are purposefully written as syllabic sounds (not actual words). In Karl Jenkins’ own words, “it was my intention that the vocal sounds should be more akin to those heard in ethnic or world music.” The rhythmic drumming and close vocal harmonies are accompanied by members of the ZHS band program and the Advanced String Chamber Ensemble.

This is a unique musical work that is sure to be a memorable experience. Donations of $5-$10 will support scholarships for students who will study music, dance or drama this summer and return in the fall to lend strength to the ZPS programs.

Five Graduating Seniors - one from each of our five disciplines
Performers in grades 6-11 to apply to summer lessons, camps, and intensives

Information regarding auditions and placement for students new to the Zeeland HS Dance Program can be found on the dance website: https://sites.google.com/zps.org/zeelanddance/enrollment-auditions

Dance is available to all high school students, and incoming students wishing to be placed in a class other than the entry-level Dance I course should complete the following application before April 11, 2024: https://forms.gle/BPhvhr5Gw29wqTb57

Auditions will be held after school at East on April 12.

Due to the current weather conditions, the student choreography production "Props" has again been cancelled and will be rescheduled for Sunday, February 4 at 2 PM. All purchased tickets will be honored at this event and you can still purchase at zpsarts.ludus.com.

This is also our scholarship concert which raisers money for the Norma Sneller Senior Scholarships, Lora Wilkinson Scholarship, and the Summer Study Scholarship fund for current students.

All participants and their families have been notified but if you could help spread the word to others who hoped to attend, that would be helpful!

Get your tickets for the annual Student Choreography Concert, Saturday, January 13 at 2 PM at zpsarts.ludus.com. Our theme this year will bring many "Props" to the stage for creative exploration. Students in Dance III, III R/A, IV and Ensemble have been at work creating original pieces to share!

This concert is just an hour and 15 minutes long...so there is time to enjoy it and still get ready for ZEHS Winterfest or the Technical Theatre and Design Bingo event.

Pancakes and live music? Here's a great plan for family breakfast on Saturday.

The Zeeland High School Orchestra students will host a pancake BRUNCH on Saturday, October 21 at the historic Colonial Clock Building. From 10 a.m to 1 p.m pancakes and sausage links will be served hot off a 4’ diameter griddle.

Student ensembles will perform multiple BLUES ‘N JAZZ tunes while guests enjoy a pancake breakfast complete with sausage, juice and coffee. Tables will be set up on the main floor and upstairs for guests. If it is good weather, there are patios and decks to enjoy outdoors.

The proceeds from this fundraiser will help pay a percentage of the student costs and provide scholarships for a trip to New York City in 2025 to perform at Carnegie Hall.
