It is with sadness that we need to inform all of our loyal guests over the past 7 years that we are closing our doors.. not out of choice unfortunately for us, but the body corporate voted against us trading ... So this weekend we will be hosting our last guests and the house is now actively in the market to buy or rent

It was lovely meeting and talking to so many of you during this time

It seems that many South Africans still do not understand the concept of "Self Catering" I get asked so many times..."does this include Breakfast?".... Breakfast is served in a B&B or a Hotel where you have the exclusive use of your room and bathroom and share communal living and dining with other guests...With Self Catering, as it says in our name, You have exclusive use of the facility and do not share anything with anyone that you have not brought along.... except perhaps an occasional neighbor walking past......

Just a quick reminder to those doing the "Om die Dam Race" in March, We just cancelled the booking we had for that weekend this morning and it is bound to go quickly... the beauty of Ile Du Lac is that you can come back after the race and relax with a braai and a few cold ones and only check out at 6pm.... and also not worrying about cars being broken into with luggage and valuables let me know if you are interested...

It's amazing how popular we have become! I had a cancelation for this coming weekend and one potential guest was hogging the room on one of the bookings sites and not taking my calls, so I had to cancel him in order to free the unit..... and within seconds I was booked again AND confirmed! We are now fully booked till end October, so if you are planning a weekend away..... book ahead of time people! Enjoy this glorious spring day!

We have had an exciting week with our online booking system going live. Yes you can now book directly here on Facebook! We have also had our first booking through Safari Now....YEAH! and the quote requests from are streaming in...... For anyone who may be concerned about the Hyacinth problem at Harties, we are situated on the inlet into the dam where there is clear water and no hyacinth problem. All the photos posted were taken in the past month and it is all clear
