I’ve had the loveliest break from social media and made the most of my time off to recharge after the last wedding season. This is my favourite olive tree and bougainvillea on my parent’s island, Otok Ugljan in Croatia where I sampled many dishes of crni rižot (cuttlefish risotto). Then on to Belgium to tick off a destination I’ve had on my bucket list since seeing the movie, In Bruges.

A big thank you to my couples that chose me to be part of their special day during the 2023/24 wedding season, it has been my busiest to date. Also a big thank you to Gerrelyn Glico who is always passing on beautiful couples she’s unable to accommodate, a testament to the gorgeous people you meet as part of the wonderful community of wedding vendors here in Adelaide.

Looking forward to an exciting 2024/25 season ahead.

I love writing personal stories for my wedding couples, not only because it makes the ceremony bespoke but because it gives me a deeper understanding of their relationship. When I send out a questionnaire to my couples I get them to fill them out separately so I get two different points of view to piece a story together. There was so much good material in Jocelyn's and Andy's that it was difficult to make it concise without missing any of the heartfelt sentiment. By the end of the ceremony, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house as these two delivered their personal vows to each other, fully present in what is often the most emotional part of the day.

I met Huyen and Mark initially via a virtual meeting as they were living in Townsville and organising a wedding in Adelaide. It was lovely to meet Huyen face to face on one of her trips back here and discuss the upcoming wedding. We had a rehearsal a couple of days before the wedding to allow for their bridal party to fly in and had the most perfect autumn day for their ceremony in The Botanic Garden. I love this black and white shot in front of the Victorian glasshouse. Unfortunately, you don’t see Huyen's beautiful face but it showcases her stunning dress and veil.

This woman would put a smile on my face every time I entered the doors of a special school I previously worked at. Lynda is a ray of sunshine and I was pleasantly surprised when she asked me to be her celebrant as she and Andrew had been together so long that I presumed they were already married. They made it official on a sunny morning at The Veale Gardens in front of their family exchanging the most heartfelt vows for each other and then for each other’s children. I try not to tear up and keep it professional as a celebrant but this one got me. Thank you for the privilege of sharing this very special day with you.

In 2017 Jalina met Rowan in her family driveway as she and her friends headed on a road trip to the Yorke Peninsula. Their first adventure led to a deep connection that has grown stronger over the years. They were married at Yatahlia Manor on the Thursday before Easter in front of their families and closest friends.
Thank you to their photographer, the lovely Lara from Apollo Photography for going to the effort of sending me an email with some of their favourite photos.

Always excited about discovering new wedding venues in Adelaide so I was delighted to perform a ceremony at Cruising Yacht Club. Sarah's mother, Claire contacted me initially after coming across my Instagram page and explained that Sarah and Lucas were living in Perth but were moving back and having their wedding here. The weather was perfect, the backdrop was picturesque and these two only had eyes for each other as we stood under a sail in front of their families and close friends in an intimate ceremony.

I had a wonderful initial meeting with Jess and Jordan. The conversation flowed effortlessly and it felt like catching up with old friends. Having two degrees of separation here in Adelaide we soon realised we had friends in common. Having mutual friends vouch for Jess and Jordan as a lovely couple was a heartwarming confirmation I already felt. I love this black and white shot capturing Jess' infectious laughter and the adoration on Jordan's face.

When Hannah and Daniel were recommended to me by his mother, I was so excited about their wedding venue. They booked The Regal Theatre for their ceremony and Hula Hoop for the reception. Being a movie buff myself I couldn’t think of a cooler location to be married. Daniel and his groomsmen were waiting up on the stage in front of the beautiful drapes as the bridesmaids entered from the adjacent back doors and lastly Hannah entered being escorted by her dad down the centre aisle. A lot of my brides say they’d like to start the ceremony right on time but inevitably run a little late. Not Hannah, she looked radiant as she entered precisely on time raring to get the party started.

The perfect confetti shot! No petals across the face with a beautiful smattering around this gorgeous couple. Renee and Pat's ceremony was at Lot 100 where their guests were treated to a magnificent reception. Pat was a bit nervous beforehand whereas Renee strutted down the aisle looking like a goddess and as cool as a cucumber. Such a blast getting to know you two and loved being part of your special day.

When first meeting Jamie Preisz he took me aside and told me how he’d like to surprise Alex Preisz by getting their wedding into Vogue magazine. Not only did he manage to get it into Vogue Australia but their wedding made it to Vogue USA. When two creatives get married you want to be there to witness the creation and I was lucky enough to be invited as a friend and co-celebrant. Alex's vision and attention to detail was executed physically by her incredibly handy husband to be and brought to fruition with the help of Tia and Claire from & Claire Weddings. It was beautifully captured by their videographer, Andrew from Bottlebrush Films and stunning photos like this one by James Morris. Thank you for including me in your wild ride, love you guys.❤️

Jazz and Seb created the most magical day for their wedding at River's Secret Garden. This one was extra special for me as I had held this bride in my arms as a baby and her mum has been my dearest friend since I was 6 years old myself. I had to read through the personal story quite a few times beforehand to get through the ceremony without tears. The reception was set up as one long table in a picturesque garden surrounded by fairy lights. I got to meet Seb's beautiful family and friends from Germany as we sat eating magnificent food carefully chosen by the couple who are foodies. The weather was perfect and we danced the night away under the stars to music that was carefully chosen by the couple. The DJ commented that he’d never been given 4 separate playlists for an event and I’m enjoying these now reliving the memories as I drive in my car. Every detail of this amazing celebration reflected this couple's love and personality. I knew I’d always be a guest at this one but it was such an honour and a privilege to be your celebrant and officially unite two gorgeous human beings who I adore.❤️❤️
I love this photo by Courtney Illfield and can’t wait to see the rest of the gallery.

When first discussing Alex and Jamie's wedding they indicated that there would be about 100 guests. They never imagined that everyone they invited would be able to attend a wedding that was a 3 hour drive from Sydney on an idyllic property just out of Braidwood. So I was a little surprised when the wedding coordinator sent an email indicating 141 guests. Nobody that was lucky enough to be invited to this amazing event orchestrated by two incredibly creative humans was going to miss it. And we were delighted that this auspicious event was everything we dreamed of and more. I spoke to guests that came from Amsterdam, London and Hong Kong. As seen on this video Jamie’s awe at seeing his bride was matched by every other guest. Alex looked like an incredibly beautiful, ethereal, woodland nymph and she was just as impressed by Jamie’s mint green suit embossed with flowers. The ceremony included a podium that Jamie hand built and put together the day before, beautiful Persian rugs for their family and friends to encircle them and a ritual created by Jamie involving a traditional Singh sword and the ‘Orb of Commitment’. (He’s secretly hoping this will catch on). The speeches were entertaining and heartfelt. Dancing started early with the talented Adelaide band, of Zoku and followed by a fabulous DJ that had us dancing until the early hours of the morning. Living vicariously as I follow their amazing honeymoon through South America. Thank you for including me firstly as a guest and allowing me to be part of your ceremony. Love you guys.❤️❤️

If rain bringing luck on your wedding day is accurate Erin and Tim's January wedding was filled with good fortune. It rained steadily all day and then the sun came out for their ceremony that afternoon. This first look photo shows Erin and Tim embracing the unexpected weather and remaining joyful, focusing on the love and commitment they were celebrating. Their wedding day was everything they’d dreamed it would be and they have just returned from an amazing honeymoon in the Maldives.

My heart was full leaving Emily and Clancy's wedding ceremony. I officiated Emily’s brother's wedding in 2020 so it was such a pleasure to hang out with Mel and Jo and their adorable twin daughters. I got to see the entire Sharpe-Hall clan again and meet another awesome family. I spoke to Emily’s grandparents at length who make you realise that aging is a privilege and grandad was celebrating his 90th birthday that day at his granddaughter's wedding. Emily and Clancy are two of the sweetest human beings you’ll ever meet, a product of the love that evidently surrounds them.

This was the sweet ride Ryan arrived in at Sunnybrae on his wedding day. Striking his best James Bond pose here this is a groom with a great sense of humour. The playful and unexpected image of him striking a Pl***oy centrefold pose on the podium as his future bride practised the walk with her father at rehearsal is etched in my memory. Thank you for bringing light-heartedness and laughter during the entire process.

It was such a pleasure meeting Alyce and Ryan. Our initial meeting was planned during the time of restrictions and after trying to support two local pubs that sadly had to restrict opening hours we ended up at my place with some gin and tonics. I felt an instant connection to them both and was so happy and honoured to be part of their special day.
This stunning bridal bouquet matched this equally stunning bride and came from a florist I use regularly Indy Rose Flowers

Step into the enchanting world of love and creativity as Georgia brings her dream wedding to life. Georgia's vision took form in a stunning wedding dress, uniquely designed by her and crafted in Vietnam. The dress is a masterpiece that perfectly captures her essence and style. Her future father-in-law hand crafted an arbour in the shape of a ‘J’ paying a beautiful homage to his son, Jasper. Georgia's creative and artistic mother helped to bring every other aspect of Georgia and Jasper's special day to perfection.

I'm always leaping out of the way so my face doesn’t end up in the middle of your wedding kiss. I was surprised when I saw this photo but then realised that these two lovebirds didn't wait for my queue, they were kissing all through the ceremony. This may have been when Stephanie delivered the most heartfelt vows and ended them with an ‘I love you’ in Reuben's native tongue. The look on his face was priceless and Stephanie was so pleased with her delivery that she celebrated with a fist in the air and saying ‘Nailed it!’

Kristy-Lee and Daniel sent me their personal vows and they were beautiful. By the time you proof read and edit them if necessary it usually prepares you to contain your own emotions on the day. I was totally blindsided by these two, they were so present as they delivered their vows to each other. As the tears streamed down my brides face I could also see her eldest daughter and bridesmaid with tears of joy for this union. That day I needed the tissue in my folder too.

Tam and Duy's rehearsal was the day before the wedding. As I was leaving I asked the bridesmaids what time they needed to wake up the following morning. I was shocked when they replied they needed to be up at 4am to prepare for the traditional tea ceremony. Regardless of the lack of sleep they all looked radiant the following day at the ceremony I officiated.

I only met Alexis and Jayden a few months ago. They were planning an engagement party and decided to get married instead. These two were high school sweethearts, have been together for eight years and couldn’t wait to become Mr and Mrs Soar. They managed to organise a beautiful wedding in a short amount of time and were fortunate to pick an unusually warm winters day to celebrate their love in front of their families and friends at Sunnybrae Estate.
