*** MMS MEDIA & COMMENTATING STATEMENT ***

Effective immediately MMS Media & Commentating have had to make the tough decision to stop all commentating and media activities.

It has been a tough decision to stop calling and reporting on the sport I love. However this is the right decision.

We can’t thank all the kart clubs, race teams, parents, drivers and all other supporters that have supported us over 15 years.

When I called my 1st meeting as a 14 year old, I never knew what the next 15 years would bring. I’ve loved every second of it though.

I’ll be calling select events of the Australian Kart Championship before stopping all operations.

BWC Racing and Hayden Millington Press Release!! Shamick Racing Enduro at the Go Kart Club Of Victoria...The Home Of Champions.!!

TAG 125 racers Braden Clark and Hayden Millington teamed up last weekend for the season ending Shamick Racing 4.5-hour enduro. Clark and Millington had both had strong results across the 2022 season but were going up against some more fancied rivals which included multiple state, national and Bathurst 1000 champions. The 2-driver team utilised Saturday to get up to speed as much as possible before Sunday morning qualifying!

Millington hit the track 1st for qualifying as the lighter of the 2 drivers. Hayden pushed extremely hard and was setting good pace in the tough high-quality field. Millington landed in position 21 overall handing the kart over to Clark. Braden being the heavier of the 2 drivers put his best foot forward but had multiple lighter drivers in his session. Clark landed in position 36 overall which had the team out of 31st spot for the main event.

Clark started the race and his main strategy was to move forward across his stint and stay out of trouble. Braden missed the opening lap drama and slowly moved forward across his stint. Clark did a long 71 lap opening stint and was sitting in 3rd position before pulling into the pits and handing over the kart to Hayden.

Millington continued the team’s strategy of staying out of trouble and trying to make up positions across the stint. Hayden had made his way forward on the edge of the top 20 when karts started to take their next round of stops. Millington did a marathon second stint resulting in 90 laps behind the wheels and taking the race lead before his 2nd stop. Hayden pulled into the pits and handed the kart back to Clark to continue the team’s strong race.

Braden emerged from the pits in position 12 overall and the team were working their way into the race on strategy and excellent driving. As the pit stops continued and racing was on, Clark made his way into the top 10 and then into the top 5, and was looking like a strong result was on. Braden did another near 80 lap stint when the rain came and the team were able to take their final compulsory stop. Millington jumped back aboard the 18 kart and due to being able to put wets on in the final stop, the team came back out in the effective race lead.

The final stint was full of nerves and adrenaline as Hayden was leading the race and having to try and hold out the charge from former and current state champions Jace Lindstrom and Harrison Hoey. In a tense final stint, Millington was able to hold his nerve and cross the line in 1st position! In unfortunate and heart-breaking circumstances, the team were giving a post-race penalty for their drivers being in the kart over 60 minutes. This relegated the 18 kart down to position 13 overall.

Braden’s father Graham spoke post weekend on the team work and excellent driving across the event. “We went into the event with a plan to execute. Our priority was to make sure both drivers felt refreshed and this worked with Braden coming into the pits for the final time in a strong position. Hayden did an amazing final stint and the moment we crossed the line to celebrate with our family and team was something we won’t forget. Unfortunately, a post-race penalty went against us but I can’t thank both Braden and Hayden enough for the thrill. A big thank you to our pit crew and team Ashton Cattach, Clay Devlin, Taylem Mackinlay, Josh Clay, Tony Burt and Rebekah Clark. Scott (Hayden’s father) and myself can’t thank you all enough and we look forward to coming back again next year”.

B & A Kart Racing Press Release!! Shamick Racing Enduro at the Go Kart Club Of Victoria...The Home Of Champions.!!

B & A Kart Racing’s James and Aiva Anagnostiadis took on the Shamick Racing 4.5-hour enduro to finish the 2022 season. James was taking on the competitive KA3 Junior class, while Aiva was paired with KZ2 Australian Kart Champion Joshua Fife in the TAG 125 enduro event. Both drivers were looking to finish their season on a high at the tough Todd Road circuit.

James hit the track for qualifying and in a tough field of over 20 drivers was able to put himself in position 5 on the grid. Anagnostiadis had a tough start to the race when he was involved in an incident causing a bent tie rod. Anagnostiadis went to work in the early to middle stages of the race and was pushing his way towards top 3 drivers entering the pit stop phase of the race. James entered to pit stops in contention and emerged in 3rd position overall. After multiple full course yellows, Anagnostiadis began a 3-way fight for the lead with 20 minutes to go. James was up against Queenslanders Max Walton and Mika Lemasurier with multiple positional changes across the 3 drivers. In an exciting and thrilling finish, Anagnostiadis made his way into 2nd on the final lap of the race to take an epic podium result!

Aiva was next to hit the track and did a brilliant job to qualifying in position 9 overall in qualifying and the top 10 shootout. Anagnostiadis was racing in the front half of the 40-kart field when an early incident resulted in an unscheduled pit stop to change a bent axle. Anagnostiadis and co driver Joshua Fife put in 2 massive stints to make their way back up into the top 10 and were looking to continue their progress forward. Luck unfortunately didn’t fall the way of the Aiva and Josh with rain starting just after their final stop, which resulted in the team having to re pit for wet tyres. Aiva and Josh were able to put in another brilliant stint to make their way inside the top 10 and come home in a respectable 8th position overall!

The B & A Kart Racing team spoke post weekend on the ups and down for both drivers. “The Shamick Racing Enduro was great fun as always! It’s the perfect way to end the year’s racing. Both James and Aiva had tough starts to their endurance races with damage to their karts. James bounced back to be right in the fight for victory and to come away with a podium was an awesome result. Aiva and Josh after being near last of 40 karts worked their way back up to the top 10. The rain didn’t come at a great time for us but to finish 8th in a tough race like that after their start was an awesome achievement”. James, Aiva and B & A Kart Racing will return to the karting scene in season 2023!

Reece Cohen Motorsport and Jackson Souslin Harlow press release!! Shamick Racing Enduro at the Go Kart Club Of Victoria...The Home Of Champions. !!

New South Wales had a strong representation at the Shamick Racing Enduro over the weekend, with former and current state champion Reece Cohen and Jackson Souslin Harlow pairing together for the big event. Both drivers were looking for their maiden victory in the event and were looking to take it to the local Victorian drivers!

Cohen and Souslin Harlow both utilised the strong practice sessions on Saturday to get up to speed with their package and be ready to go for Sunday morning qualifying. Souslin Harlow hit the track for the first lot qualifying, with Cohen going next and both drivers doing strong laps to put them in 9th place overall for the top 10 shootout. Souslin Harlow hit the track for the top 10 shootout and put in a strong lap that put the team up to 5th place overall for the start of the race!

Souslin Harlow started the race strongly and was showing excellent speed. The state champion made his way as high as the top 3 and was battling in the lead group at stages of his opening stint. Souslin Harlow made his way to the lead of the race, before pulling in for the opening pit stop after and excellent stint with Cohen ready to jump aboard.

The team completed their stop but an issue on the grid with the spark plug caused the team to lose substantial time and go multiple laps down.
Cohen and Souslin Harlow then spent then next 2-3 hours making up time across the pit stops and putting in excellent pace out on circuit. Cohen was pushing hard in his final stint and the New South Welshman had made his way back into the top 5 battle and in contention. The rain then started to fall with Cohen unfortunately 7 minutes away from finishing his driver time so having to circulate out on slick tyres. Reece pulled into the pits with wet tyres going on and Souslin Harlow hopping back aboard the kart.

Souslin Harlow now out on wet tyres was putting in hard laps and trying to make up as many positions as possible. Jackson was in the top 10 and trying his hardest to push the team up towards the top 5 drivers. The clock stopped after 4 hours and 30 minutes of racing and Souslin Harlow and Cohen were able to cross the line in 7th position overall in a brilliant showing.

Reece Cohen’s father Darren spoke post-race and spoke of the boy’s tough day. “The day started very well with qualifying going well and Jackson putting the boys right in the hunt for the lead. The first pit stop was costly and Reece and Jackson were then chasing the field all day. The rain didn’t come at an ideal time but to come home with a top 7 finish was a great result and I’m extremely happy with the guy’s race”. Both boys will be back in season 2023 and will be one of the drivers to beat in their respective classes.

Bristow Motorsport Press Release!! Go Kart Club Of Victoria...The Home Of Champions. Gold Cup!!

Archie Bristow had his final meeting of the 2022 season over the weekend at the Go Kart Club of Victoria Gold Cup. Bristow was having his 2nd meeting in the Cadet 12 ranks and had a bumper field of over 20 drivers. Archie was focused and determined going into qualifying to try and put himself forward in the field!

Bristow hit the track on Sunday morning and immediately went to work trying to set fast lap times. The Bridgeswade Pools and Spas backed entry was quickly into the top 10 and then into the front group fighting for pole position. Archie was able to put himself to the top of times but had 20 competitive drivers trying to knock him off. Bristow was able to grab his 1st pole position in the Cadet 12 ranks, which had him off the inside down to turn 1.

Archie was able to get a clean get away in heat 1 and led the early few laps of the race. The MJ Pressure and Property Works sponsored entry was leading but had pressure from behind in Australian Kart Championship round winner Jackson Brasher. Brasher was able to take the lead on lap 7 of 8 but Bristow wasn’t throwing the towel in for the win. In a close finish, Archie came home in 2nd position and was now hell bent on grabbing victory in heat 2.

Bristow was able to get another clean get away in heat 2 and led towards the opening corner. Archie’s Parolin was working well and the young driver was able to open up margin on the field. The GB Fasteners backed entry led every lap of heat 2 and was able to take his 1st heat win of the weekend by over 2 seconds!

Pole position was the starting point for heat 3 and Archie was once again able to nail the start. The Bridgeswade Pools and Spas sponsored entry took the lead and while karters argued behind, he was able to slowly open up margin. Bristow’s package was once again on rails and he was able to take his 2nd heat win out of 3 races. Archie was off pole position going into the final.

Bristow was excited and ready to try and take home his 1st round win in the Cadet 12 ranks. Archie was able to get a clean start but had heat 1 winner Jackson Brasher right behind him in 2nd. The MJ Pressure and Property Works sponsored entry led majority of the race but was being pressured going into the final laps. Brasher and Bristow both had their turn in the lead with Archie coming home in 2nd position, only 6 hundredths of a second off the win!

Archie’s father Matthew spoke post weekend on his young driver’s intense weekend of racing. “Archie once again blew me away with his determination to succeed. He pushed hard right from the start of the day setting the fastest lap time of the day and putting it on pole in qualifying. He went on to start every heat and final starting from pole and lead 33 out of the 37 laps raced over the weekend. We knew we would find it hard to keep Jackson behind us for the 13-lap final but he had a good shot at it. When Jackson made the pass, they just clipped wheels that put Archie off his stride and allowed Jackson to pull away. I thought its done now but Archie pushed hard and made up so much ground on the last lap. They were almost side by side when the crossed the finish line and was so exciting to watch. I’m so proud that he kept pushing right to the end. Being only his second Cadet 12 race I’m extremely happy with the result and has proved we made the right decision to move him up. Congratulations to Jackson and Aiden for joining Archie on the podium finish and everyone else who competed over the weekend. Thanks to everyone at Go Kart Club of Victoria that put on an awesome event”.

Basso made the move for 3rd spot on lap 2 and then went up to 2nd on lap 3. Mathew was showing excellent speed in 2nd spot but had lost ground to the race leader. Basso finished his Saturday on a high with a strong 2nd place and excellent championship points.

Basso had his final heat race on Sunday morning and was looking to be right in the fight for victory. Mathew settled into 3rd spot but then quickly made the move into 2nd spot and had the eyes forward looking for victory. B & A Kart Racing Press Release!! Las Vegas SuperKarts! USA !!

James and Aiva Anagnostiadis made the trip across the world to compete in one of the biggest go kart meetings in the world, the Las Vegas Supernats! James was competing in 48 driver field of X30 Junior, while Aiva was taking on a monster 79 driver field in the KA3 Senior ranks. Both drivers were ready to put their best foot forward and take on some of the country’s best!

James hit the track for qualifying and was aiming high against some of the worlds best. Anagnostiadis was able to put in a positive start to his weekend qualifying inside the top half of the field and inside the top 20 in position 19 overall. James had an action-packed start to his racing being involved in an opening lap incident in heat 1, which dislodged him from the kart! Anagnostiadis was able to finish heat 2 but was down in position 29 overall, with engine issues and on track contact hurting his finish spot. James’ tough weekend in the states continued in heat 3 when he was put to the rear of the field. Anagnostiadis was able to make his way back up to position 39 overall but was going into the final looking to make up positions. James was able to put in his best performance of the weekend in the final making up a remarkable 23 positions to come home inside the top 25 overall!

Aiva hit the track in the near 80 driver field but also had a tough start to her weekend with engine issues plaguing her qualifying. Anagnostiadis put herself in position 65 overall and was looking to the heats to move forward. Aiva was able to make up 3 spots in her opening heat which put her inside the top 30 for the split heat. Anagnostiadis was involved in an accident in the 1st few laps of heat 2, which resulted in a DNF and had her on the back foot. Aiva made up 4 positions in her final heat which had her out of position 35 overall in the last chance qualifier. Anagnostiadis stormed up 13 positions across her final race to come home in position 22. This however wasn’t enough for her to make the championship final after a fighting final drive.

James and Aiva’s parents spoke post weekend on the tough weekend. “The Las Vegas Supernats were tough for both Aiva and James. Although we had an awesome team and Chassis, engine problems would plague us all week. Both Aiva and James never gave up and kept pushing all the way. Lots of lessons learnt”! James and Aiva will finish off their season at the Shamick Racing 4.5 hour enduro next weekend at the Go Kart Club of Victoria.
