Big weekend done and dusted.

We had our first go at T-racing on Friday night in Brisbane. EUC dominated the numbers for this meet and a lot of friendly competition fired up as everybody pushed for the best times they could get. We’ll be doing the same at the next fortnightly track session, hopefully with some eskate numbers this time!

Yesterday afternoon we finally got to successfully ride at the Coombabah trails for our first off road session of 2024 and what a ride! Shoutout to the Brisbane folks who braved the traffic jams to finally make it to one of the Gold Coast crews’ finest trail ride finds. More where that came from again in 4 weeks!

Next ride weekend is the 28th/29th with the 29th being the introduction of one of our new group ride routes along the Wynnum Foreshore.

Last night’s group ride went ahead without any issues nor rain until after we got back to the carpark.

That’s us done with Friday night group rides until Spring!

We’ll have fortnightly track sessions taking over for winter in the lead up to the ERL event at the end of August.

Saturdays will see a mix of group rides and off road sessions with an emphasis on new routes.

Next events will be listed soon!

Tonight’s Pirate Run has been moved to 10am tomorrow morning! Our Coombabah trails ride is once again delayed and has been rescheduled for 3pm June 15th.

Hopefully the weather starts to give us our weekend rides without disruptions soon!

We ended up having to cancel our off road session this morning unfortunately but will be looking at rescheduling it asap!

Last night’s Friday night group ride went off without a hitch and was a blast as always.

Next up in 2 weeks we’re back at it with another track session locked in!

Track night went superbly this weekend and will be happening again early next month!

This Friday coming up we’re back to the classic Friday night Brisbane group ride route followed by our first off road session of the year on Saturday morning at Coombabah Trails. All of these will be happening monthly for the rest of the year in rotation with Saturday morning group rides based around introducing new routes, so plenty to look forward to!

Our first group ride for 2024 is just under a week away. Stoked to get back into it, especially since we’ll be adding in off road sessions from Autumn through Spring alongside our track night sessions and new group ride routes galore!

Okay folks, now that Christmas has come and gone for another year we're starting to fill up our events tab for early 2024!

So keep an eye on events for January/February popping up as we finalise a few things in preparation for the beginning of our ride roster for next year.

March will be focused on brand new routes being introduced and April will see the return of track nights, as well as a mix of group ride routes (old favourites and more of the new) and our new format with off road sessions becoming part of the regular fun!

Seeing as we’ll be busy on the day just throwing up a Merry Christmas post to everybody now and letting you all know we have our full roster of group rides, track nights and off road sessions locked in for 2024!

Will be a slower start (2 group rides per month, most back to back January to March) but big year ahead!

While our group rides may be finished for the year our good friends running the Gold Coast Electric Skateboard Riders Group are still pumping out their regular Thursday night and Sunday morning group rides.

They have one planned this Thursday night in Varsity Lakes following the Evolve Project BMX demo. Hopefully I’ll see some of our Brisbane crew there!

And that’s a wrap!

Thank you to everybody who came along with us on the last 2 rides for 2023, we had a blast.

2024 will see a new structure to our event planning taking place where April through August will be jam packed with some exciting new events, track sessions and new group ride routes galore being introduced from March onwards after a quiet January/February (one ride each month has been locked in as we’ve got a hectic start to our year outside of esk8)

We look forward to seeing you all next year for all the fun times we have planned.

Our first ride back will be Saturday January 20th, see you there!

Hey folks, we've been quiet for a couple of weeks and felt it was time to address what the future of the SEQ ESK8 page looks like.

Recently our events have been getting smaller with less in attendance. This is not necessarily a bad thing as smaller groups can lead to easier events to manage. And we get it, not everybody can make every event weekend as other aspects of life do take priority often for all of us. Alongside this though we're experiencing a lack of communication in regard to letting us know who's sitting where for attendance after initially listing yourselves as being interested in the events (this may be a fault of Facebook possibly changing the event attendance settings at some point recently.)

We do our best to put in one to two events worth of our time (events themselves being usually between 5-10 hours) every other week but that involves a lot more time than people see including very long drives no matter what for one of our admins, and a lot of back and forward communication with venues when working them into the group rides.

With all we've seen change for SEQ ESK8 group rides, etc since we became involved in them in one way or another back in 2018-2019, we've decided to change our format from one to two events per fortnight to more likely one to two events per month (subject to further change depending on things like the weather on the planned event dates plus if we feel up to chucking in extra rides here and there.)

We will still be out riding regardless with some of the close friends we've made through the PEV scene or solo as our passion for these devices hasn't changed, just the public events will be far and few between compared to what we've all seen over the last few years.

Our next event will take place on either Saturday November 11th or 18th (route, time, etc TBA)

Shoutout to the small crew at yesterday’s Boondall to Redcliffe group ride braving the tiny patch of light rain and the feet burning distance, we had a blast (especially testing out the prototype mountainboard a few of you have seen at previous events…in 4wd briefly this time 👀)

Our next events are up in 2 weeks again which are Varsity track night on Friday the 8th of September and our all time favourite Redlands group ride the following morning.

We've been a little quiet recently taking a quick break between event weekends but we'll be back in 2 weeks with another Varsity Lakes nighttime track session on Friday the 16th of June and a Bulimba Creek group ride the following morning. Both events are up in the events tab as well as a long overdue Gold Coast beachside group ride the following fortnight.

Our plans for winter will see fortnightly group rides continued generally on Saturday mornings, monthly track sessions on Friday nights, and soon some Saturday afternoon off road sessions being added into the mix.

Little runthrough of the track layout last night at our DFO carpark track session. Awesome turnout including a few faces we haven’t caught up with in a hot minute. Special shoutout to Jack from Raijin Racing for setting up this track after making his first esk8 appearance in a while, looking forward to continuing to work with Jack to keep bringing these track nights to life for the South East Queensland esk8 community.
