A new night has been launch at Lazy River Estate. Winter Warmers on Friday nights in June.

You can book a fire pit or book a spot to stay warm inside. Enjoy winter inspired cocktails and amazing food. We know the Chef! 😉 There will also be live music.

Head to the Lazy River website, click on Events and the Winter Warmer Series will be shown by date. Click on the link and it will take you to 123 tix to secure your place. There is a listing for each Friday night.

'Cultivate' Restaurant at Lazy River is now on Friday night (for the month of May)! Both Thursday & Friday nights! The menu is also now four courses. A perfect amount of food, amazing menu & stunning venue at Lazy River Estate.

Have you made a booking yet at 'Cultivate', Lazy River Estate's new Thursday restaurant? The May menu is shown below. Five Course Set Menu with or without matching wines!

The menu is mostly gluten free or can be made gluten free. Please advise at the time of booking. A vegetarian option is available but 48 hours notice must be given.

Head to the Lazy River Estate's website for your bookings. Click on Restaurant in the menu section to access their booking system. May is nearly booked out. Keep an eye out for the June menu.

Introducing our new Executive Chef, Brad Myers.

If you're a local, you will recognise Brad from his much-loved restaurant Veldt, where he earned an Australian Good Food Guide Chef Hat.
Brad joins our team with 25 years experience in the industry, and has cooked in some of Sydney's most iconic restaurants including 360 and Three Weeds.

Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, Brad also spent time cooking in kitchens across the UK and Europe before taking on a Head Chef role in Sydney and then returning to Dubbo with his family 7 years ago.

His food is classic, with a contemporary twist and we can't begin to tell you how excited we are for what he has planned here at Lazy River Estate.

O U R N E W S !

Good news! Brad has started a full time position at Dubbo RSL as their Executive Chef. He will be managing all their food outlets. This includes 178 Restaurant and the menu. It will have a definite 'Veldt' feel about it. We will post the new menu soon. (Start date will be the 15th of September).

Bad news.... Veldt is no longer. After the past couple of years it really has been a tough gig having a family run hospitality business. So we are super excited for Brad to have been offered the role.

If you are looking at booking a function or dinner with the RSL, give them a call directly on 6882 4411.

We sincerely thank all the customers that have supported us along the way. We hope that you enjoyed our restaurant and takeaway meals. We have loved being a part of the Dubbo business and hospitality community.

A few weeks back we had the amazing opportunity to be the caterer at the inaugural Dubbo Winter Whiskey Festival Dinner at the beautiful The Establishment Bar Dubbo. We love creating and collaborating with a family owned, like minded & dynamic couple Rob & Tenelle Bond.

They had an amazing turnout with guest speakers & the night was enjoyed by all.

G O O D B Y E & T H A N K Y O U

Veldt Restaurant is officially closed. My goodness, where do we start? Thank you! Thank you for the most amazing 7 years! It has been so incredibly tough to have a business in recent times however, we have each and everyone one of you to thank for supporting us, loving us and helping us realise our dream.

We are so incredibly proud of what we have achieved. Our business literally started as a piece of paper with dreams of what we could bring to Dubbo and we feel that we always remained consistent and true to ourselves of what level of food and service we would want for ourselves from a hospitality business.

Thank you to our staff. What legends! We have been very lucky to have some amazing staff over the years that we now call family.

Our future; Brad is off to another venue . We will announce the details when they have been finalised. So do not panic, Dubbo will still have Brad’s food! But I am tapping out and looking for a 9 to 5 position so I can focus more on our family and activities that were hard to juggle when owning our restaurant.

Veldt may reopen one day. Never say never.

Clarity Imagined in a professional organisational service that I had the pleasure of using today. Our garage, storage unit and restaurant was a dumping ground of surplus items. Alice kept me calm all day. Worked through my anxiety. Made me feel like I wasn't alone in getting a daunting task sorted.

Veldt Restaurant is looking for a Chef for a period of 8 weeks! This person will be responsible for the plating of cold entrees and desserts, cleaning and a small amount of prep. Training will be provide but kitchen experience is essential. We are a very fast paced kitchen. Tuesday to Saturday from 5.00pm. It is with an incredibly heavy heart we wish to advise we will be closing our restaurant at the end of March.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank you for welcoming us to Dubbo, and then with 7 years of loyal patronage. Many of you have become friends and family to us. We have had an amazing time creating, serving and meeting each and every one of you.

We cannot thank our amazing Veldt team (past & present) enough for making the magic happen. They have been an asset to us, and we are proud of each of them.

We require 2 hours notice to cancel or reduce numbers on your reservation even if it is Covid related. As a small business it is imperative we are given the opportunity to refill those seats/tables.

It is financially crippling to have empty seats due to last minute cancellations. A reminder is sent out 4 hours prior to your reservation. Please check you and your guests are OK then and let us know if you need to change or cancel. 2 hours is all we ask! Cancellation fees will stand if 2 hours notice is not provided to cancel or reduce numbers.
