Stepping into another world 🌿✨

Tucked inside the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, The Calyx provided the perfect setting for an awards night that was anything but ordinary. Against a backdrop of lush greenery and striking glasshouse architecture, sweeping coloured lighting, atmospheric haze, custom prints and sculptural chrome table lighting transformed the space into an immersive experience from the moment guests walked in.

Every detail was designed to set the mood, build anticipation and make the night feel like something special.

The pressure behind the plate🔥

Pulling off the San Pellegrino Young Chef Awards 2026 was no small feat. Following our State Winner recognition for Best Brand Event at the 2025 Australian Event Awards, we knew this year had to be bigger, bolder and better.

And with a competition of this calibre, every detail mattered.

From bumping in and preparing for the chefs, to welcome drinks and a vodcast on night one, then on day two - a five-hour staggered cooking competition (with high stakes for our chefs), and a gala dinner complete with an awards presentation and custom live performances, the days were packed from start to finish.

Multiple hungry competitors, world-class chefs and judges, suppliers, stakeholders and a huge production team, all working together to bring one ambitious vision to life.

At Zesty, we thrive on the moving parts, the unexpected challenges and the pressure that comes with creating something exceptional. Seeing it all come together was a feat in itself, and one of the biggest events of our career.

Because behind every exceptional event is a whole lot of work you don’t see. 👀

A pretty special moment for Zesty! 🎉🏆

Last night, we were named Event Agency of the Year at the Australian Event Awards - a national award recognising excellence, creativity, innovation and best practice across Australia’s events industry 🤯

Wow, wow WOW…
This recognition means a lot when you’ve spent years building a business, backing your ideas, taking risks and putting everything into the work. It’s also a huge acknowledgement of the trust our clients place in us, and of the incredible suppliers, crews and collaborators who help us bring ambitious and truly unique events to life.

Hands down, the event I’m most proud of.

The San Pellegrino Young Chef Awards & Gala Dinner was one of those projects where everything came together - the concept, the room, the food, the production and a pretty incredible team behind it.

It was ambitious, detailed and a huge amount of work… and it paid off. The event went on to win multiple awards, which was a lovely indicator that we’d created something special.

Still one I look back on and think, yep - we nailed that one. 🤌 It's good to take a moment and be proud of your past work when you run your own business!

For 28 Greengate, Zesty handled the full production and on-site management - coordinating suppliers, branding, catering, florals, hire, speeches, guest movements, the photo moment over at the construction site, and coverage across the morning.

One of our astute team members - Grace - ran the day, with around 50 purchasers, potential buyers, consultants and builders joining Riverlee to mark the start of construction.

Quite a few moving parts behind a very relaxed morning, and another great one with .

Back at New Epping with for the 28 Greengate launch ☕️

This one was all about making the morning feel polished, on-brand and easy for guests from the second they arrived - coffee from a fully wrapped moss green cart, matching branded cups, fresh florals, beautiful hire pieces and breakfast from a local New Epping favourite.

The kind of corporate event where all the little touchpoints are working together, without compromising that feeling of community and locality to the launch.
Important to bring these moments into the brand experience.

There are a lot of very good event producers out there, so choosing who you want to work with can feel like a bit of a minefield.

Ultimately, I think it comes down to finding someone whose way of working fits yours.

Someone who understands what you’re trying to create, can bring fresh and original ideas you perhaps hadn’t thought of yet, and can actually get the whole thing over the line (whilst making it all feel easy).

So rather than me writing an essay about why that might be Zesty…

A little glimpse at one of the larger-scale events we’ve been working on recently.

Around 300 guests means there are a LOT of moving parts from my end - venue, suppliers, AV, food, guest flow, timing, styling, speaker movements, staffing… The list goes on.

If the experience is easy and seamless as a guest - I consider that a job well done!
