All I can say is WoW ...
Thank you to all who have reached out last couple weeks , your response had been overwhelming.
A big shout to Samitha Aiya N Thushara and all the Newcastle n Maitland Sri Lankan community members who came and dropped the goods and donated money for our 14th food distribution. We have fed more than 400 people including 6 fire stations , fire victims and Blaze Aids people.
Total collection $ 795 from our generous New castle Community. Once we deduct grocery shopping we manage to buy $ 179 worth clothing for children .
Many thanks to everyone who has supported the Taree bush fire victims and fire fighters.

Dear Friends,
Thank you very much for the overwhelming support for our request for donations for bush fire affected people in Taree. We were able to send a full ute load of essentials to them last week.
As mentioned in my previous email, a group of volunteers from Newcastle Sri Lankan community is traveling to Taree on Tuesday 14th of January morning to prepare and offer lunch to firefighters and bush fire affected people in the area.
This event is led by #– Sri Lankan Food Truck (Thushara & Vishaka) and coordinated by a charity organisation in Taree which is carrying out a lot of relief works for bush fire affected people there.
We are hoping to cook meals on Tuesday morning in Taree for approximately 250 people and handover packed lunches to firefighters and people in need.

If you have missed the previous opportunity and if you wish to contribute to this noble cause you could either,
1. financially contribute to raw materials cost,
2. offer raw materials, or
3. Join with us to go to Taree and help prepare food.

Please let Thushara, Vishaka or myself know if you wish to contribute or if you want to find out more about this.
