The Wedding Industry Awards have been held right across Australia for the last 15 years and celebrate and recognize the pinnacle of professionalism and service by wedding suppliers. The WESTERN AUSTRALIA - Wedding Industry Awards WINNERS and Recipients will be announced by VIRTUAL PRESENTATION.

A Winner and Highly Commended will be announced for each category and in some categories, a Top 5 and Top 10 will be awarded.

VOTING INSTRUCTIONS

ONLY VOTE for Businesses located in WESTERN AUSTRALIA

You have an opportunity to vote for a maximum of 5 wedding suppliers and 1 venue wedding planner. Take your time to carefully select which of your wedding suppliers that you will nominate.

Voting tip: Nominate the wedding suppliers that exceeded your expectations, went beyond the call of duty, exceptional professionalism, value for money, excellent customer service, and then rank them in order.

When voting, the following points apply:

1st choice - 5 points
2nd choice - 4 points
3rd choice - 3 points
4th choice - 2 points
5th choice - 1 point

For a business to be a Finalist in the Wedding Industry Awards, they must score a minimum of 20 points.

VOTING RULES

If you vote for the same business more than once, that business will be allocated 1 point.
Only one vote per Couple will be accepted, both Partners names must be supplied.
Your wedding date must be after 30th June 2022.
If an anomaly is suspected with one or multiple entries, those entries will be deemed ineligible. DO NOT Stack Votes.
Please ensure that the businesses that you vote for are located in and service SWESTERN AUSTRALIA

Be a Funeral Professional, you’ll make a difference they said…
I’m well aware you are in a place you don’t want to be, talking to someone you don’t want to be talking to, about something you don’t want to be talking about. Trust me, I know. I wish you didn’t have to do any of those things either. But then there’s reality.
Sometimes I’m a referee because someone got grandpa’s pocket knife or grandma’s cookbook. Or maybe he was married to you first but had kids with his second wife…. either way, now’s not the time or place. Let me give them a dignified service, afterwards you can do whatever... but until we’re done, be adults.
Sometimes we’re nothing short of an artist. Some people have a gift for certain things. I know what mine is. Humbly. Sometimes we spend soooo many hours getting someone ready for a viewing because that accident was a bad one… and you just want to see them one last time. I would too. And in one or two cases, I’ve failed… it just wasn’t there. And for that, I’m so sorry.
Sometimes we’re looked at as the money hungry undertaker. Trust me, the overhead is astronomical. A complete professional staff readily available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year is taxing. It’d scare you. Literally.
Sometimes you’re angry at me, I get it… and it’s okay, I understand. When I’m walking out of the hospital with a baby in hand and two security guards I don’t like me much either. I’ve learned that the smaller the casket, the heavier it is. If you don’t speak to me when I see you around town it’s okay… again, I understand.
Sometimes there’s dark circles under our eyes because we’ve been up for a couple days. So if we just say “hi” and move on, we’re trying to get home for a little sleep. Please understand.
And sometimes we are left taking care of our own. Our own family, our own friends, and our own brotherhood… with honor, and with the utmost dignity and respect, as always.
So yeah, be a Funeral Professional… some days we make a difference, tirelessly.

What an amazing send off for one of the stalwarts of the WA Racing fraternity – William ”Bill” Patten – as we bid Bill farewell earlier today at Pinjarra Paceway.
The audio is a special recording made to celebrate Bill’s 95th birthday two years ago, and includes the names of all of the horses Bill owned, trained and raced over his stellar career.
A fitting tribute to an amazing man.

You truly are a beautiful person. Your kind words and thoughts mean so much to us.
We are going ok, we still have our good and bad days/times and will do for a very long time. But knowing she is at peace now with Bella and both are smiling down on us helps a little 😊
You did such an awesome job with the service that so many guests are still contacting me, saying a what great job you did and how you made it sound like you had known her for years.
You are a credit to Bowra & O'Dea and come highly recommended to anyone asking for a celebrant and i can vouch for that along with the guests.
Hope your travelling well to and taking care of you.

"Somewhere Over the Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole - one of the most frequently played songs for celebrations of life ceremonies.
Fascinating is the story behind the recording xx

In 1988, Israel Kamakawiwo'ole called the recording studio at 3am and said he had to record a song right away. 15 minutes later, Israel arrived at the studio. The studio owner, Milan Bertosa said, "And in walks the largest human being I had seen in my life." A security guard gave the 500 pounds man a large steel chair to sit on.

Milan said, "Then I put up some microphones, do a quick sound check, roll tape, and the first thing he does is 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow.' He played and sang, one take, and it was over."

On Monday I will celebrate a bittersweet milestone - my 1000th funeral service.
I am humbled by this milestone.
Every day, I continue to try my best and am grateful have the opportunity to work alongside some of the most compassionate human beings on Earth.
To the families - thank you.
To the Funeral Directors, Arrangers, Conductors, Road Crews and Support Teams - thank you.
To my husband and family - thank you.
I still can't believe I have the opportunity to do what I love.

Happy Celebrant registration day to me! Thirteen years today I received confirmation of my registration and my dream to become a full time Celebrant fulfilled six and a half years ago.
Thanks to my family and friends for believing in me, especially when I didn't believe in myself and for your ongoing support and encouragement.
Thanks to all of the wonderful people I've met over the years too - such an honour to be a part of these special moments in your lives xx
