The 2023 NIBA Gala and Awards Dinner, hosted at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, was an unforgettable event that left a lasting impression on the 700+ attendees who gathered to celebrate industry excellence.

As the night unfolded, guests danced the night away to the infectious beats of one of Queensland‘s most celebrated cover bands, Vegas Please. The retro disco theme added an extra layer of excitement to the evening, and the ballroom's stunning transformation left everyone in awe. A photobooth was on hand to capture all the magical moments, and a lively cocktail bar added to the festivities.

What better way to kick off a 4-day professional development program than with an injection of adventure and adrenalin.

The started day 1 at Lancelin sand dunes, just north of Perth. Here, the group went sand boarding down massive 45-degree angle dunes, which are the biggest in Western Australia.

From the peaks we were rewarded with a panoramic outlook over Lancelin, surrounding farmland, sand hills and stunning coastline.

The convoy joined the Indian Ocean Drive north of Perth, passing crystal-clear waters, white sandy beaches, and dramatic cliff faces of the southern Coral Coast.

Todays’ theme was connection - and how weather-related events can impact our connection to the land.

After exploring the endless white sand dunes of Lancelin; Australia’s premier sand boarding destination, we ventured further north to Nilgen Nature Reserve, a region abundant with flora and fauna, to learn about bush medicine. Next stop was the eerie Pinnacles Desert, an area which dates back millions of years to a time when the land was beneath the sea.

Our convoy continued further north to our camp for the next 3 nights, Northbrook Farmstay; a working farm, still rebuilding from the devastating 2021 Cyclone Seroja.
