9 of those months I spent in India.

And it was there, in Varanasi, where I became a Yoga Teacher before moving back to Africa.

I’ve always been a storyteller.

From the moment I started keeping a diary as a little girl, it was clear I had a passion for words.

It's a passion that carried over into my career as I blossomed into an internationally published writer.

I’ve loved writing about health, meditation, yoga, the Dalai Lama, anything uplifting & inspiring.

I was so excited when my writing started getting printed in magazines all over the world.

I became a regular contributor for Wellbeing Magazine in Australia.

I wrote for Sydney Morning Herald & various travel magazines around the globe.

When I pitched an article to Wellbeing Magazine about “Dying Gracefully” they loved the idea.

So I interviewed a Celebrant in Byron Bay and a man who plays the harp for people as they're dying.

After speaking to them I knew I’d stumbled upon something I was meant to do and be.

It was a real lightbulb moment.

I immediately trained to be a funeral celebrant.

Sometimes couples think their story isn’t worth telling. 😯

They think their guests might find it boring. 😴

But, there is no such thing as a boring story. Only a story told in a boring way.

While the weddings I officiate are always peppered with fun, I’m not one of those celebrants who’s primarily about creating the party. 💃

Dear Business ...

You really did come into my life at the perfect time.

I was so ready to do something new, ready to lean into my creativity & take my love of storytelling to the next level.

Looking back, I smile every time I think about the excitement & joy my engaged couples have felt when they’ve read my first draft of their love story. Or when I’ve tweaked their wedding vows in a way that’s made them feel excited about sharing them with each other in front of their guests on their wedding day.

It’s been amazing to help people who feel they aren’t very good with words to express their love. Helping them find a way to express those feelings in an authentic manner. In a way that feels real for them. Often their partner hasn’t heard them say such meaningful words before, and seeing it bring a tear to their eye, the reaching of hands - incredibly special.

Truly magical moments that give couples a wonderful start to their married journey. For many - a real turning point in their relationship.

I’m grateful for all the couples who've trusted me to show them how to create a deeply connecting ceremony experience.

Me, my hubby & my 11 year old son love diving for lost treasures at the bottom of the ocean ...

And then returning them to their owners whenever we can.

We’ve found:

Apple Watches
Wedding rings
Iphones
Fitbits
Hundreds of goggles
Airpods
You name it!

While finding them is fun...

The best part is when we’re able to find the owner & return a phone or watch which they never dreamed they’d see again.

It’s gold.

Seeing that look on their faces.

It thrills every time.

(Tip: If you have an apple watch - add an emergency contact in the settings so someone can track youif you lose it).

Chatting to hubby the other day I said...

“You know what I’ve realised? If I can do something useful & purposeful when I’m at the beach, (in addition to having a nice swim), the experience is soooo much more fulfilling for me.

And then I realised this is also true for my work...

Whether I’m teaching Yoga or Meditation, or creating ceremonies filled with gorgeous storytelling.

It’s all about bringing more meaning to the moment.

More purpose.

More depth & connection.

I believe that when our lives are infused with meaning & purpose, it brings us a whole new level of fulfilment.
