We're deeply saddened to hear about the death of broadcasting legend Phil Donahue. Donahue brought important visibility to the lives of LGBTQ people on his iconic talk show, and he remained an advocate for the LGBTQ community the rest of his life. In 1990, Donahue hosted the first ever GLAAD Media Awards and received the GLAAD Media Person of the Year Award, and in 2009 he was honored with the Special Recognition Award. Our hearts are with everyone who loved him.

Thank you to everyone who has purchased tickets to our upcoming events. We are proud to bring an array of fundraisers for everyone’s taste. From the Pride Parade to Opera & Art at Locals, we appreciate your support. Know that every dollar goes back into our community. Once again, thank you for attending our events and all the kind words and encouragement for all these years.

The Q***r Culture Bursary, (formerly known as The Langley Parnell Bursary) has been given away once a year for eight years to a chosen applicant. We have given away over $50,000.00 for post secondary education. Our goal is $5,000.00 every year.
We have been honoured with awards from Rotary, The Local Hero Awards, and The Chamber of Commerce. We put up our own money to finance our events and give all profits away. We invite all people to our events, “be you amplified”. Thank you for letting us entertain you.

About Q***r Culture

Last year Q***r Culture collected $2100.00 for the LANGLEY PARNELL BURSARY and gave it away to Gabrielle-Marie Beauchard, who was enrolled in SFU. All our events contribute to this cause. As well as the private donations we receive throughout the year.

To apply for the LANGLEY PARNELL BURSARY you must: -25 years of age or younger -enrolled in a post secondary institution - be a part of, or allied in the Q***r Community

And provide: - a letter of support from any Community leader (teacher, mentor, etc) - Copy of letter of acceptance to School - and most importantly every applicant will need to write a letter explaining how they intend on changing the world. We want uplifting hopeful thought provoking ideas and goals. Show us your Sparkle!
