Over the past six years, Chef Barrie has served hundreds of events in the Elk Valley, making unforgettable wedding dinners, birthday parties, and ‘just because’ celebrations extra special with her delicious creations. From intimate family dinners to grand celebrations, her culinary magic has brought joy to countless tables.

Beyond events, Barrie has been a daily hero, helping families with her mouth-watering pre-made foods. Burgers, pies, soups, scones, mac and cheese, and cannelloni are just a few of the favorites that have filled homes with comfort and flavor.

There’s nothing I love more than gathering people around the table to share delicious food and create unforgettable experiences! As a passionate chef and caterer, I’m thrilled to be the culinary advisor for new annual fundraiser, Feast for a Cause!

On May 4th, join me and the talented for a ‘Taste of Fernie’ like never before! With 14+ culinary partners serving up smaller versions of their delicious dishes, silent auction items worth nearly $15K, and a community spirit that’s simply electric, this is an event you won’t want to miss!

I’m honored to be a part of this event to raise money that will support two important causes: EKFH ‘Warm Embrace’ campaign, putting a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Cranbrook Hospital and a local parks project in collaboration with the City of Fernie.

So mark your calendars, gather your friends, and get ready for a night to remember! Let’s feast for a cause and make a difference in our community!

Hey there, we got some new followers lately so I thought it’s about time to do a reintroduction. ✨ I’m Barrie, the driving force behind Fernie Catering Co. 👩🏻‍🍳 Growing up in my family’s health food store in rural Nova Scotia, I rolled cinnamon buns and stocked shelves. My wild heart led me on a culinary adventure out West—working in fishing camps, backcountry lodges, and embracing every flavor life had to offer. 🎣

Completing my apprenticeship in Vancouver, I fell in love with the diverse world of catering. Now, with a Red Seal Chef Certification, I’ve called the quaint mountain town of Fernie home for the past 10 years. From running kitchens to winning my episode on “Chopped Canada” in 2015, I’ve poured my passion into every dish. ♥️

We made it to the time of the year when we’re not to sure what day it is… FYI Today it’s Wednesday, so I just wanted to remind you that the kitchen is closed this week and next week, as we’re taking some off and spending it with our family and friends. Recharging the batteries and looking forward to 2024!
