10/09/2023

Band Feature:

Hotfix is an alternative rock group formed in 2017 in the basement laundry room of a band house known as “Area 51” on the east mountain in Hamilton, Ontario. Known for their unique sound and electrifying performances, Hotfix is rapidly gaining a reputation as one of Southern Ontario’s most memorable up-and-comers. Though starting their days as a cover/wedding band playing Motown and pop hits to bar goers from 2017 through to 2020, they managed to record and release one single entitled “Somewhere to Go” in 2018 before the covid-19 pandemic forced the group to disband in 2020.

In early 2023 the band reunited with the intent to release their own music and leave the covers behind. They are currently in the studio recording their debut EP which will be released in late 2023.

Taking influences from the many differing talents of the past as much as their modern day inspiration, Hotfix manages to put forth a fresh spin on the alt-rock, groove rock and pop categories.

They’ll be on the Saturday Night lineup, grab a ticket or a weekend pass.

Many people are excited to see the The Action Figures at ICBH on the 19th. They've always put on a great show no matter where they're at.

In true, the show must go on fashion, they have assured us they still want to play. What you may not know, is that their entire studio was robbed last night. All their gear, recording equipment and work they had done on their latest album... Gone. Some of the instruments have been with them since they were kids. They are trying their best to put on a brave face and realize that it's "just stuff", but are clearly devastated by this.

So here's what we're going to do.

ICBH will be taking donations at the door and will organize a silent auction for any donations we can find. We will also be donating a portion of our proceeds that night to the band. We're hoping their friends, family and other local musicians can come out and show this hometown band of over 20+years some much needed love.
Please email [email protected] if you wish to donate an auction prize for this event.

We just ask that you come out and enjoy the show, and offer what you can. the mike gallant show is also performing that night and you'll see what an incredibly passionate band this is and we promise it won't be a bummer night, but a night of fun & support for our friends. 🍻🤘

If you didn’t grab a ticket to last night’s event, you definitely missed out on a great one.

Thanks to all the bands, Circle The City TheGypsyFlats .loudthing new moon views and A Million Ghosts for putting on great performances of original material !

Thank you to everyone that came and supported, it means more than you could know!

Lastly, thank you to the staff at Collide Social Workspace for being gracious and letting us borrow your venue for the evening, but thank you mostly for being great to work with and getting behind this.

Well, 2 years later, and it felt like we picked up where we left off.
It was strange being in a different spot doing these, and some very key individuals not being there like usual, but it all came together and worked out in the end. Theatre 42 will ALWAYS be missed, but this was a good replacement.

Thanks again to everyone! Keep supporting the local arts, and especially our little indie music scene!

Until next time 😉
