Contrary to popular belief, you really don’t NEED to have these at your wedding:

1. Favors
2. Wedding cake
3. Bridal party
4. Headtable
5. First dances
6. Speeches
7. Entrances

All of these things are often included in a typical wedding day plan, however, you don’t need to include them in yours. Whether you want to save a couple dollars, avoid the spotlight, sit and engage with family and friends or just keep the day simple and sweet, eliminating things on the list that don’t resonate with you is totally your prerogative 🤷🏾‍♀️

In all honestly, I could do away with all of them🤭

🙅🏾‍♀️The Receiving Line: You, nor your guests came to stand in long lines and endure long unwanted walks down memory lane.

🙅🏾‍♀️The Cash Bar: Your guests didn’t come to cover their own tab! They put time and money into coming to your wedding and would appreciate being taken care for the evening.

🙅🏾‍♀️Annoying wedding traditions: Let’s stop with the garter and bouquet toss. Like in all honesty, it’s a bit of excitement that we wont miss.

-starting university in September🤯
-lover of reading with an extensive book collection
-steps in when Mama needs a break😇

2) JHAYLA
-a true girlie girl, great at sports 🏃🏾‍♀️
-should be a Tick Tock sensation with all the content she creates
-always says I love you Mom🥰

3) NHYIRA
-never ending energy⚡️
-loves to draw and jump on the trampoline
-always shares with Mommy🤗

4) IDRIS
-the prince of the home, so spoiled is an understatement
-always laughing and smiling 😁
-has Mommy wrapped around his little finger 🤭

So it’s my birthday 🎉 and I’ve been doing a lot of thinking. About the person I want to be, the life I want to leave and the mark I want to leave in this world.

It’s been months and months of pouring into myself and really trying to get an understanding of what and how I need to do things. And I have to say, a couple things have been reconciled, a few things discarded and a whole heap of ish added to the to-do list. But I’ll get there because slow and steady wins the race💪🏿

You may may notice me missing in action at times because I realized, life is short, tomorrow is not promised and if I’m not living how I truly feel is best for me and my loved ones… what’s the point 🤷🏾‍♀️ So, I am allowing myself to take time outs from whatever and whenever😌

I’m grateful for another year, and will be doing my darnedest to make the next 365 days better than the last! 🚀✨

Despite the number of guests, there are always things to take care of. Like questions your guests may have, issues with meal selections or the order and timing of things.
Now, do you really want to be sitting at your sweetheart table checking the time and making sure you're on track with the itinerary??

Most guests will understand your decision to have an adult-only wedding (most guests😒).

However, to avoid any confusion🙄, make it clear from the get!

🍭When you don’t want the little brats at the wedding:
*Please join us for an adult reception.
*We are sorry that we are unable to accommodate children at our wedding.

🍭When you only want certain brats at the:
*Due to guest number restrictions, we are only able to extend the invite to the children of close family/or our wedding party.
*We are only able to accommodate the children of our wedding party.

🍭When only precious babies are invited:
*Please be aware that this is an adult-only wedding (with the exception of children under 12 months).

Ps. I can call them brats, because I have brats😜

🤔Will they behave?
🤔Will they cry in the middle of your vows?
🤔Will they make a mess or get in the way
(because we all know kids can get in the way
sometimes)?

Take some time to think about this one.
Are there kids in your life that you really want to have present?

💕Do you want kids involved in the ceremony?

💕Will they stay for the reception?

💕Who is going to look after them?

💕Will you, the parents and the other guests be able to really get down and have a good time?

These are all things to consider. The best advice I can give you is don't feel obligated to invite children. It’s your wedding, and you are in control of who gets to share in your special day. And if the thought of a crying baby or a winey 2-year-old doesn’t float your boat, ❌ the idea! 🤷🏾‍♀️
