The ultimate power duo, Julia Ounphongxay and Manissah Samah are business partners at .ca. You might recognize Mama's Hungry Catering as they are regular for our events on the east coast! Since March, they have distributed free meals and care packages to people in their community and to the frontline workers!👏
We asked Julia what a memorable moment was in her entrepreneurial journey was and here's what she said...
"This journey has been full of inspiration but there is one main thing that sticks out to me began when I was very young. My grandmother immigrated from a refugee camp in Thailand many years ago and no matter how much or little we had, she always made sure of one thing - that everyone ate well. She created a sense of community and care through her food and I learned early on the impact that food had on people. Her strength, perseverance, and passion for food is where my inspiration comes from. I believe that our business would not be where it is without these integral qualities that I have learned from her."
Along with their catering business, Julia and Manissah are also partners in life. They practice gratitude every day by expressing what they are thankful for and appreciate the things that are good. 💕
