Alysia and her husband, Tyrone, first opened Teassential in June of 2016. Alysia is of Persian heritage and immigrated to Canada with her parents. During her childhood, her family lived in China, and she had the opportunity to be immersed in Chinese culture and learned to speak Mandarin. This is where Alysia’s love for tea really blossomed!
Upon returning to Canada, Alysia’s family decided to settle in Vernon. Her parents, Ziba and Fareed Lor, established Gold’N Time Jewellery in Downtown Vernon. From a young age, Alysia and her sisters worked at the family business, where they were involved in all aspects of owning and operating a business. This is where Alysia really learned how to excel in customer service and sourcing quality products.
After completing a Bachelor’s degree in Ecology, Alysia worked in northern BC for a few years as an environmental scientist. Upon returning to Vernon, Alysia and Tyrone decided to start their own business and explore their passion for tea!
Teassential is located in the core of Downtown Vernon, where they focus on finding the best quality teas to offer their customers. They carry over 140 varieties of tea, unique in-house blends, bubble tea, a variety of teaware and everything else you may need to make the perfect cup of tea. The staff at Teassential have crafted the ideal space where customers feel comfortable exploring the world of tea!
