Had a great time sampling some super tequilas. Great music and wonderful food. A little hot today but thankfully it was overcast. Definitely a must go to event!

I've had this bottle for a year or more and have resisted opening it... with my new partner seemed the perfect opportunity. I've always been a fan of and am.not disappointed with the . Like it's kin in the lineup, it has a bit of an alcohol nose but with a little bit of smoke, cooked agave, and oak to even it out. First sips are nice and smooth with oak, caramel, and a hint of chocolate. Creamy notes of cognac mix well with the earthy body that hints at licorice, citrus, port, and herbal notes. After taste is robust and complex and lingers on the tongue...begging another sip. This bottle is a 2022 and was well worth the wait. Makes a killer margarita as well (had to try it).

So this is a new for me. I've seen a tonne of tequila lovers post about it so thought I would give it a try. I am pleasantly surprised...it's a delightful sip. After the pour, cooked agave, caramel, fruity funk and port/fortified wine aromas meet the nose. First sips introduce Licorice, herbal notes, soft apricot, with hints of leather. It is bright and crisp on the tongue with a pleasant mouth feel. After taste has a mild, slow burn, is a bit sour, with vegetal notes, and a delightful complex finish. A unique offering and worthwhile keeping on the shelf. Highly recommend.

Spent a few days in Edmonton this past week and picked up a few amazing bottles ... Stay tuned for some reviews! Some of these are favourites that aren't available in Ontario and a couple are some I've been waiting to try. Salud!
