A massive thank you to everyone from the bottom of our hearts! Even though we scaled down the Krake Festival this year, it was still HUGE.

We appreciate every helping hand that made last week possible, with our fantastic crew and the staff of ABOUT BLANK and House of Music Berlin we managed to pull off some next level fun.

A big shout out to all the artists who made these events truly unforgettable - so many outstanding performances that leave us in awe. You are the best!

Get ready for an unparalleled session in the garden of ://about blank for the finale of our festival this year. Heroes of the D DJ Stingray and Detroit in Effect will share the stage with Nite Fleit, Alienata, Wheelman, Michael Aniser and Triqi for a full day of electro, breaks and house music at one of the best spots in the Berlin club scene. We kick off - just in time for Fete de la Musique - with our Opening at the House of Music on the RAW-Area, co-hosted by Resident Advisor

The screening of "Crip Camp – A Disability Revolution" sets the mood: "We understood at that time that the disabled young people were not the problem, but we were the problem - we, the non-disabled, our ideas about disability".

The panel will bring together local and international community activists to share insights into their work, discuss principles of inclusion and diversity, and collectively develop perspectives for an inclusive subcultural industry.

Those who don't like to sit still, can meet and mingle outside with music and BBQ vibes or try out drum machines, synthesizers and other music production machines in the open studio, which is hosted by the artists of our in-house collective Ick Mach Welle.
And since a Krake Opening without a concert wouldn’t be Krake, we'll round off the day with a performance by the Belgian combo Choolers Division - mumble rap meets experimental electronics - and a live performance by Bläck Dävil, whose Schnäll Schnäll EP is being released on Killekill in July.

Following them we have a diverse and excellent international line-up for all the night, with the menu ranging from deep and broken grooves to electro and acid techno. Can't wait to see all these legends behind the decks: French veteran The Hacker , Istanbul's vibe queen Ece Özel , one of London's brightest rising stars Imogen plus of course local favourite and Krake regular LUZ1E da boss!

For our last 'Krake - Riptide' event at ://about blank in 2022 we started the story of the Ambient Garden at night. This year we decided to take this project to the next level. With an expanded musical programme, including exciting DJs and a series of fantastic live shows, but also with an even more elaborate setting that will transform the club's outdoor space in ways that have never been seen before. With visual support from the experts at LiCHTPiRATEN , we will create an equally cosy and trippy environment for the musical endeavours to unfold over the audience.

Get down for live performances by Daniela Huerta, RVDS and Museum Of No Art. Further journeys guided by the excellent DJs Vivian Koch, MSJY and Mars Leder from Warning.

For the Lobby room of ABOUT BLANK we curated a night that will be filled with a dangerous amount of BASS. Prepare of a straight up master class of UK sounds, broken beats and full on rave energy. Rather you are into throbbing basslines, sharp breaks, wobbling action or some classy UKG vibes - you’ll be in for a treat!

We have GOD69 with a hardware live performance and an exciting B2B of Katyusha and Rhyw framed by local legends Acidfinky and Isabassi.

Deutschpunk legends PISSE will take to the stage at 4pm after an opening DJ set from Ick Mach Welle's Dj Marla Roots, and throughout the evening we'll have more exciting shows from 21 Downbeat and our in-house firestarters Wellen.brecher. Further DJ support will come from COBRA KILLER 's DJ Gina D'Orio and newly formed local duo HypnoreKS97 (made up of Hypnorex and HKS97).

Issues of inclusion and accessibility have been an integral part of our work with Krake Festival for many years. Whilst our events were rarely 100% barrier-free, we continue the process and always try our best to potentially welcome as many of you as possible. In terms of physical accessibility, we aim to work with venues and teams who share our ideals, providing on-site support and offering special tickets to communities in need. Our opening event at the House of Music will be free to all, and for the Weekender you can buy the 'Inclusion Ticket' via our website for €5, which includes entry for you and your supporting companion. In recent years we have become increasingly concerned with the issue of inclusion: Why does club culture bring so few artists with disabilities to the stage - despite the fact that thescene places so much value on diversity?

This year we want to prove that it is possible to curate a festival with an exciting programme and at the same time showcase a large number of artists with disabilities. An event that educates, but does not feel like a charity event or some dry lecture.

On the opening day of Krake Festival at House of Music we have a screening of the film Crip Camp - A Disability Revolution, an open workshop with Ick Mach Welle , a panel supported by Resident Advisor, the amazing Choolers Division on stage, plus more fantastic music and some tasty BBQ. Entry is free all day.

We continue with a massive weekender at ABOUT BLANK , where inspiring acts like 21 Downbeat, Wheelman, Wellen.brecher and the fab crew Drag Syndrome will perform alongside many international heavyweights such as DJ Stingray, Nitefleit and Imogen.

Just in time for the Fete de la Musique, we kick things off with our opening at the House of Music in the RAW area, co-hosted by Resident Advisor. Admission is free.

We present a panel on inclusion and cultural activism, bringing together local and international community activists to share insights into their work, discuss principles of inclusion and diversity, and collectively develop perspectives for a subcultural industry in which people with disabilities are afforded with the same opportunities to develop an artistic career.

You can also hang out and network outside with music and BBQ vibes, or try your hand at drum machines, synthesizers and other music production equipment in the open studio hosted by artists from our in-house inclusive collective Ick Mach Welle.

Throwback to a sweet day at the Urban Spree garden during Krake Festival Day II. With help of some of our favourite labels we could not only finally set up our first label market since three years but also finally had our legendary charity raffle in real life again. Thanks to all our generous tech partners and label friends for donating prices. With you help we've been able to raise funds for - which will be used to provide further capacities for pushing inclusive values in music and nightlife ✌️

Krake Day I has been made happen in collaboration with Silent Green who helped us hosting amazing performances by Tangerine Dream, Rosa Anschütz and Special Guest DJ. After years of working with Silent Green we felt like taking it to the next level in 2022 - it was a great pleasure to share this with so many lovely people! Thanks for being a part of this 💞

GEGEN Showcase Mike Starr:

A purveyor of the underground, championing the unsung via overlooked or slept on gems, British born-Berlin based Mike Starr has applied his musical sensibilities to his sets and productions for the past two decades whilst retaining
the true foundations of house & techno. Mike Starr has guested at many of the best of Berlin underground clubs + parties including Panorama Bar, About Blank, Kater Blau, Heideglühen, Kit Kat Club, Wilde Renate, Sisyphos, and Paloma Bar. Mike has actively injected his unique blend of charisma and soul into underground house. Djing with musicality, groove and a sense of purpose by emotionally telling a story within his sets, mixes and productions. The sound although firmly grounded in house, incorporates groove based nuances from electro, garage, disco to the sound of Detroit, Chicago, Berlin house & techno.

GEGEN Showcase Laura de Vasconcelos:

Your House-Music Extravaganza. Your Disco Q***r. When Laura
steps up to the decks, she dares you not to dance!
Brazilian based in Berlin, Laura has been playing her
trademark brand of house-classics, raw and energetic sets she has become synonymous with. In her carefully curated vinyl-
collection and in her ability to fuse rock and disco to a bassline-driven house and techno, her sound is unmistakable,
her dance-floor is always sensual, fierce and fun!
A thoughtful multidisciplinary artist, with a constant need to
create, Laura has recently self produced and shot a series of
music-videos. Love letters to both her birthplace and her
adopted city, they eloquently showcase her ability to tell a
story, never missing an opportunity to uplift and spotlight
the work of other artists and collaborators alike, all the
while accompanied by her signature nostalgia. “House-classics dance/electronic disco”, says Laura de
Vasconcelos, the Brazilian Berlin-Based DJ when asked how she
would define the music she plays.
Quite mysterious, yet over a decade DJing professionally, you
will barely find about her online. Catching Laura live would
be a better way to get to know her more. Embracing the
q***rness to its core: no adjustment – no agreement, she does
not create a digital public persona to walk through the
demented times of too much data - like overdoing on her
social-media platforms.
Laura focuses on what really matters: bringing good music
together to create that magical moment we can only get on the
dance-floor! And if you have been into Berlin’s underground
q***r clubbing scene, you most certainly have already danced
your butty to her live dj-sets at the most infamous parties.
Then you know it gets sexy. Then you know it is glamorous. As
a dance-floor should be. From being lost in reverie, total seriousness, pure delight,
wit and grit, Laura is surely one of the most independent,
versatile and inspiring characters in today’s club scene.
