True North is Aberdeen’s music festival - located at the heart of the city, the festival features the contemporary music industry’s most interesting, relevant and exciting artists. Taking place between Thursday 7 - Sunday 10 September, the 2017 festival features a series of unique headline performances in city centre venues, a Fringe programme of free intimate gigs across the city, a chance to be

inspired by our masterclass and discussion programme, an amazing gig for kids, and an opportunity to get up close and personal with festival artists.

This March, True North Sessions brings you Scotland’s ‘Hippy-Dippy Drag Queen’, Megan Black 🎙️

The award-winning musician, vocalist, and songwriter holds nothing back – writing sad, yet funky, feminist anthems.

Megan explores themes of gender, sexuality, and mental health through music – creating a sonic bridge between a 70’s inspired sound with a contemporary view on feminism and the LGBTQ+ community.

True North Sessions: Angus Munro

With a glass-breaking vocal range, tear-jerking songs and trademark wit, Angus Munro propelled onto the scene in 2019 with his debut album “Mirror Man”.

His piano-bending shenanigans have resulted in shows alongside Scouting For Girls, Paul Carrack and multiple appearances on BBC Radio 4’s “Loose Ends”.
