Scott School of Singing & Expressive Arts offers individual singing coaching for all ages and abilities. All examination syllabuses covered including LCM, ABRSM and SQA Performance Exams. We are specialists in musical theatre and provide group classes from pre-school to teens. All students are provided with the opportunity to participate in concerts and festivals throughout the year. Our experienced staff strive to bring the best out in each and every student regardless of ability!

Bittersweet few days as we have our final exam session at the studio this week. Finishing tomorrow lunchtime so it’s been all go! Thanks to Mhorag for all her help. The studio is crazy during exam week with costumes and props everywhere!

Hi everyone!

Please note the date for our final concert is Thursday 4th July. Teachers will be gathering names of all those participating so I know for numbers how many we have. I anticipate it lasting about an hour so can easily split into 2 groups if we have to. This will be our last opportunity to sing together as Scott School draws to a close so we have some really special performances lined up for you. Please note - tissues WILL be required! 😂

Also - if any of you are looking for things in the holidays I’ll be running my annual musical theatre camp at Academy Street studios from Monday 15th to THURSDAY 18th July. Suitable for P3 (from August ) upwards. No age limit as it worked really well last year having everyone in together and just splitting up to rehearse. There’s plenty room in the studio for this. Times are 10am to 12pm for P3/4/5 and 10am-1pm for P6+ Snack required - open to all!

Please note there’s no Friday - our performance will be on the Thursday. Just contact me to reserve a space - it’s always lots of fun. ❤️

Congratulations to this talented trio!

Orla Woods has gained a place at Birmingham Royal Conservatoire on the Foundation Acting Course. Orla will study with some of the country’s top drama practitioners in preparation for more auditions in London next year…….⭐️

Charlie Tole gained a place at the Dance School of Scotland on the 2 year Musical Theatre Course. Here he will also study for his Highers whilst continuing his dance, acting and singing with the amazing staff there……….👏

Ellie Littlewood will take up her place in August at New College, Lanarkshire (Motherwell Campus) on the HNC Musical Theatre Course. She will then have the option to stay and complete her HND/BA (Musical Theatre) or audition further afield……..🎉

I am so very proud of them all and can’t wait to follow their journeys.
Well done Orla, Charlie and Ellie!!

Congratulations to all our pupils this week appearing in AYMT’s production of Anastasia. Too many to mention, but a particular shout out to Ayla, Orla, Grace, Emma, Alexander, Isla and Alex for their stellar principal performances of Anastasia, Lily, Gleb, Vlad and the Dowager Empress.

We are so very proud of all our students involved in this wonderful production!

Grades 6-8 on Tuesday 26th March

Times and other info will be issued in class this week. Please remember - we really can’t change times, these examiners are on a very tight schedule and every grade is a different length. 😀

Hello everyone!

That’s it now from Scott School of Singing until Jan 2024! We’ve had a wonderful build up to Christmas with two fabulous concert nights in which ALL our pupils performed amazingly. Well done to you all! Over the days leading up to Christmas Day I’ll post some of the show videos that have been sent in. It’s been lovely seeing them all.

A gentle reminder that we do still have quite a number of fees still to come in 😢 so if you do not have a standing order set up please check that you have paid this term. If in doubt please just ask.

Not long now until our Christmas concerts! Everyone is excited and working hard!

Good morning everyone! Please take a minute to watch this wee video. Our Saturday 1.45pm class have a very special message for everyone coming along to our Christmas concerts. We are delighted to be part of this special project, assisted by one of our parents, Natalie Greig. Natalie is a social worker who works closely with a number of children’s charities in Aberdeen. I’ve asked her to do a wee post on our page too, just to highlight the struggles faced by many families, particularly in this current economic climate. I don’t want anyone to feel pressurised into donating - just if you feel you can. Thanks in advance xx

So that’s a wrap for this term. It’s been a busy one with The Wedding Singer which involved lots of our senior students, and getting g our material chosen for our Christmas Show - Melodies and Mistletoe. I’m going to leave you with Abby, who hasn’t been attending lessons long at all, but is so enthusiastic every week in class. Have a wonderful 2 weeks off! Well, that’s a wrap! The summer break has finally arrived and I know our teachers are good and ready for it after another hectic term. I’d like to thank all of our parents for their unwavering support - it really means the world to me, and the teachers for their hard work this term in preparing the pupils for the music festival. You are all so kind ❤️ Good luck to all our seniors who are moving on to University or College - Fraser, Olivia, Gracie, Lucy, and to Darcy with her move to Glasgow. Biggest hugs to Steph whom I seem to have been teaching forever. I shall miss you - don’t be a stranger! The door is always open if you fancy a sing song any time! This week we encouraged the pupils to prepare a song of their choice for performance class. We don’t often get s chance to sing to each other, so it was lovely to bring the students together for the last week and see each other perform. Here are a few snippets. Didn’t have time to record them all. Happy holidays everyone - have a great summer and see you all back when classes resume on TUESDAY 23rd AUGUST. 🌞

Busy Saturday. Exam practise…..

Well I can finally say that’s the end of term for Scott School of Singing, and what better way to celebrate than with a Christmas song. I was so delighted that our Saturday group classes were able to perform in the Nativity service this morning at St Fittick’s. It was a special occasion for us to be able to sing together and I’m so grateful to the pupils for coming along and all my lovely parents for their support, not just today but all throughout this unprecedented year, coping with online lessons and ever changing rules! I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and I’ll see you all when classes resume on SATURDAY 8th JANUARY. 🎄 xx
