Due to lots of wonderful nomadic catering adventures I’ve been a bit rubbish about distributing the June Mid-Week Bake menu. I’ll pop the July Menu out in the coming days, but for those asking, our asparagus dishes from the May Menu have been replaced with a celebration of local broad beans, peas & courgettes:

Seasonal Tart options:
- Broadbean, Pea & Kent Ashmore Cheddar
- Chard, Ricotta & Pecorino
- Pea, Mint & Goats cheese
- Pea, Roasted Spring Onion, Spinach & Le Gruyere

Salad Specials:
- Broad bean & Chorizo Potato Salad
Local broad beans, wild rocket and new potatoes with crispy chorizo, ‘Cheesemakers of Canterbury’ Ewe’s Milk cheese shavings and a chive oil vinaigrette

-Broadbean & Pea Mozzarella Salad
Local broad beans, peas, pea shoots & watercress with torn mozzarella & toasted sourdough croutons in a lemon & agave dressing (GF Croutons also available)

I had the pleasure of catering a Celebration of Life today at our treasured local venue . I didn’t know the family nor their much adored departed but I was deeply moved by the love and joy shared by the hundreds who attended. It was an absolute privilege to have been asked to contribute to the day. The warmth and joie de vivre of the guests was palpable.

As always I was too busy for photos of the prettified food display, but here is a snap of some of our Asparagus and Gruyère filo tarts pre garnish. Obviously the asparagus is locally grown, we try to celebrate the best of the season and ensure sourcing is within a reasonable catchment of our little country production kitchen.

Where possible we source our veg from the excellent folk at , if you’d like to know more about getting your chops around a weekly seasonal veg box - put together by them, delivered by me - pop us a line.

Back to the photo … whilst the filo most definitely isn’t handmade, absolutely everything else is. Hours/Days of toil and organisation are packed into each and every dish. We like to think it’s what sets us apart.

Our “ode to the Jaffa Cake” pud’ is getting layered for a private dinner party.

A delicate sponge sandwiches layers of chocolate mousse, orange marmalade and an orange jelly. It’s sprayed with chocolate cocoa butter, sat astride a light sablé biscuit and topped with a quenelle of orange brûlée and shards of tempered chocolate.

I must remember to take a shot before it gets served 📸

A customer asked for two types of gluten free cupcakes for delivery today. Lemon, poppyseed with lemon curd and lemon frosting & earl grey w/ earl grey, vanilla and salted caramel.

It’s been fun getting the buttercream nozzles out again! It’s been nigh on a decade since cupcakes featured on my little stall 🧡 🧁 Where has the time gone!

A 2023 summer throw back to remind us that spring is on its way!
