Xmas at the Boat House
Xmas is the cauldron in which great hospitality staff are forged. Indeed we have all worked in much bigger establishments with the pre rolled turkey and six sittings with a 90 min turn time trying to shift hundreds of very drunk people like wildebeest across the Serengheti into a room where there simply isn't the space while frantically resetting the restaurant.
My first Xmas at the Boat House was peculiar as I was expecting that, but what happens is we don't tend to get work parties but rather as the month progresses we get the smaller group of family and friends out for their annual catch up. As a server I love this, we don't dilute the experience we offer in order to cram everyone in, we are able to maintain the quality of our offering and we have time for our guests.

We love a little friendly competition here at The Boat House Dining . So we have invited our friends at The Salty Dog to take part in a little contest. We each make a version of a cocktail and offer it to the gods (and goddesses) of the social media world. To begin with here we have our version of the tiktok hit the Negroni Sbagliato.

Jonny presents one of our whiskeys from our selection of spirits and drinks at The Boat House Dining. Jonny’s chosen Dunville’s PX 12 year old single malt Irish Whiskey. Founded in 1808 and reborn again in 2012, Dunville's 12 Year Old has been aged in Pedro-Ximenez casks and bottled at Echlinville Distillery. A local historic spirit casked just down the peninsula. With a taste of vanilla spice, it’s floral and smooth finish is perfect for sipping! Definitely worth trying after a meal with us. ✨🥃
