Hello my lovelies...Mothers Day is this weekend. we will be here at the Flower Box 830 Yardley wood road (by sweet chillies restaurant) today Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th March. From 9.30 till 5 pm selling fresh flowers.

As many of you know, Andy has been fighting oesophagus cancer. He's been a true viking and has had the fight of his life. He really wants to give a little back to the amazing cancer team where he is being treated at the QE hospital, so we are raising money for the cancer centre as they are desperately in need of new equipment to help treat other patients like Andy with oesophageal cancer.

So during Mother’s Day weekend, we are running a fundraiser from our flower shop. There will be a big selfie flower wall and a box filled with fun props and some cardboard celebs! Bring your mom, nan, kids, grandkids and friends, have a rummage in our photo props box and take some snaps!

There will also be a ferris wheel full of chocolate and cup cakes for you to enjoy!
Also raffle for 3 x £30 Sweet Chillies vouchers for amazing food at sweet chillies restaurant, many thanks to iqbal at sweet chillies for his kind donation £2 a raffle ticket !
The flower wall will be inside the meridian centre (next door to us) so can be enjoyed even if it rains!

Hello my lovelies...mothers day is approaching quickly...after missing Christmas and valentines day...we will be here sat 9th Sunday 10th March selling flowers. As you are all aware Andy has been fighting oesophagus cancer...chemotherapy massive 10 hour operation over Christmas....and another 4 lots of brutal chemotherapy! He's been a true viking....and had fight of his life.....he really wants to give a little back to the amazing cancer team at queen Elizabeth hospital.....he will be here....taking it easy! But raising money every penny going directly to cancer unit! So please stop and say hello bring your cameras and phone we are having a charity photo selfie wall....use our props snap away...have flower wall, 2 seater throne chair....ferris wheel full of chocolate and cup cakes....put what you can in our wishing well...bring your mom, nan , kids, grand kids help us raise money....it means such a lot to Andy.###x ill be at our shop 830 Yardley Wood Road ( my lovely neighbour is letting us use her shop next door ( meridian centre) for charity selfie flower wall x

Hi peeps, I won't be selling flowers valentines day this year, as you ate aware Andy, has not been well for last 7 months....recovering from operation over Christmas....and now been hit with.more chemotherapy! 2nd cycle tomorrow....he is my priority and needs my undivided attention as its been brutal on him this time.....but will open mothers day.(sun 10th.march !)...and Andy will be.here with me.giving chocolates away and he cant wait to see you all...after the battle of his life ....he will be raising money.for cancer unit who are treating him , every penny woll go directly to cancer unit !! ###

Hi everyone im Dawn, Andys wife we hadn't made it public knowledge, but Andy has cancer and undergone gruelling chemotherapy over last 5 months...he's been very unwell and due to have major operation, we are so very sad we can't sell Christmas trees this year due to his health. Andy is gutted! We have been selling trees and wreaths for over 30 years. but due to his health we just can't this year. As you can imagine he is my main priority, and hope next year our customers will come back to us , when he's finished the fight of his life! I'm going to make few wreaths to orders only between caring for him and going to hospital every day.(hopefully!) We've had so many hurdles to overcome...but Andy loves his life... loves working !! and has such determination to beat this b......d cancer, any cards and messages please pop in...you've become more. like friends than customers over the years...anything to keep his spirits up,as you can imagine he has dark days .We hope to see you next year...wishing a healthy happy Christmas and new year Christmas.Much luv Dawn xx

Hello my lovelies...another hurdle to jump...Andy been through mill last 6 months.....another problem now chemotherapy damaged his heart...so operation delayed.....so Andy wants to keep busy and wants to make few wreaths, as physically cant do Christmas trees! So if you want wreaths put your orders in...trying to keep positive....

To all our lovely customers,

Unfortunately due to illness we are sad to inform you that we will not be trading this Christmas, selling our lovely hand made Holly wreaths and Christmas trees. Andy is due to have a serious operation next week and will be recovering over the next few months.

We are so grateful for all your support of our small local business over the years, most of you have become more like friends over the last 30 years! We both hope you will be back supporting us next year when Andy is back to full health.... Feeding you all up with chocolates, have a lovely Christmas luv Dawn & Andy ###

oh my gosh chrysanthemums for funeral work.£9 !!!!! a bunch.........The humble white chrysanthemum, the staple flower for a vast percentage of our floral tributes, used by florists far and wide for lettering, hearts, pillows, cushions, wreaths and countless bespoke designs.
This seemingly insignificant little bloom is currently the cause of much stress, anguish and worry throughout the florist community.
Why you ask? In the last few weeks, the cost price of this flower has increased by over 50%, it has more than doubled, almost tripled in the last year and it is increasing every day. Chrysanthemum, traditionally known as a ‘cheap’ flower is currently far out pricing premium flowers such as roses, lily and lisianthus (which has also doubled in price recently!).
Due to the rising energy costs some growers have gone out of business, some growers have turned off their hot houses halting production and those remaining few have had to pass their rising overheads on to us, their customers. The demand currently far outweighs supply which is affecting all colours and varieties of chrysanthemum and a lot of other flowers.
We have tried to keep our prices steady for as long as possible but in the face of it, we have no option but to raise them significantly otherwise we simply won’t have a viable business ourselves. We are looking at cost effective alternatives and will always guide you through the options as best we can. At the moment white hydrangea is looking like the best option although they all have a slightly fluffier finish. If you have any questions regarding this, any concerns or worries then please do get in touch, we’re always on hand to help where possible.
