We are delighted to welcome you to our Creative Show 2017 and to share the highlights of what has been a fabulous year for students and staff across Bolton School of the Arts. In our major exhibition of the year, you will see a dynamic array of work representing a wide spectrum of courses reaching from the Art & Design disciplines, to Media, Creative Writing & Performing Arts, all underpinned by t
he Teaching Intensive, Research Informed ethos of the University. The Creative Show captures our vision of the University as a creative hub which facilitates exciting and innovative approaches to learning, skills development and knowledge creation whilst also setting our graduates in good stead for success in their specialist fields. The diversity of the work on show evidences our commitment to supporting the individual expression of student creativity – yet collectively, the exhibition also embodies our shared mission to promote the arts and creative industries as sources of inspiration and regeneration within society. This occasion also acts as a platform for the artists, designers and creative practitioners of the future to present their talents to employers from across the wider cultural and digital sectors. The fantastic support and advice that we receive from industry experts and arts organisations is crucial to us; clearly the pro-active involvement of external individuals and agencies within our courses motivates students to respond to local and national skills challenges and current cultural knowledge agendas. Many of our partners have generously supported the Creative Show 2017 through awarding prizes and offering graduating students sponsorship or placement opportunities. Many of these friends and associates of the University play a significant role in strengthening our provision and in helping us to continue to build upon our reputation for innovation and excellence. Partnership and collaboration have contributed to the recent success of many other exhibitions and showcases associated with Bolton School of the Arts and we would like to congratulate the students and everyone else involved in the co-creation of such a vibrant series of events throughout the academic year.
