Our much beloved melanochrysum... He has been growing in relative humidity around 80% a foot under sansi light. Is now currently growing under a marshydro. Was still growing even when temperatures dropped to around 16 degrees at night and 20 degrees daytime.

We haven't had any trouble growing him, has been very easy in sphagnum and does transpire a lot leaving him with droplets at the end of his leaves.

Now that we got a radiator for the grow tent and even more ppdf we hope he would grow even faster and will be checking.

A bit of brief history...
It was first discovered in the wet Andean foothills of Colombia by Eduoard Andre in 1886.

Hey guys we want to share with you guys our baby E. Leuconeura aka Madagascar jewel plant. Really proud of him and doesn't stop growing and always putting out a new leaf. He can reach up to 6ft tall if we let him and has a really cool feature of shooting seeds up to 7ft away!

These guys grow in the forest undergrowth in rocky areas. He is currently threatened by habitat loss and is endemic to Madagascar and is classified as vulnerable.

We hope to propogate and share him in the future. Happy planting guys 🌱

Needed to share. After a rise in this whole houseplant craze and seeing countless photos of large aroid on Instagram I had a thought that an issue would rise. I loved to read about harmful predatory and unethical financial schemes in the entrepreneur world before entering this plant business so of course a part of me felt like something shady would be going on here also. Not to be pessimistic but really felt that this needs to be made more aware of.

There are about 1400+ varieties of begonias, this one is commonly called Angel Wing Begonia, or sometimes, Begonia Lucerna.

You might be surprised to know that this begonia is a hybrid, whose full name we will get into later. Eva Kensworthy Gray Succesfully crossed two varieties in 1926, this is how we now have the Begonia ‘Carolina de lucerna’, an eager grower who is always giving us a new leaf.
