Next week at The Station! 🤩🧠🥽💫

Try out a short virtual reality (VR) experience from two of the world's best immersive arts studios, Marshmallow Laser Feast and All Seeing Eye.

The piece is an excerpt from a collective virtual reality experience which drops audiences deep inside the landscape of the body, following the flow of oxygen through our branching ecosystem, to a single ‘breathing’ cell.

You will experience the VR as part of a small group - six to twelve people at a time. This user test is part of a collaborative research project with UWE Bristol and afterwards we will ask you for your thoughts and feedback. More on the wider research project, STREAM here.

The session will take approximately 1 hour.

Age: 18+

Try out a short virtual reality experience from two of the world's best immersive studios. Your feedback will inform cutting edge research.

Welcome back to The Station!

Our youth club sessions at The Station are back! We have opened our doors again to young people, in small groups. Find out how we are keeping you safe in this short video.

Each session will have a maximum of 8 young people and 2 workers. Our courtyard is a great space so we can ensure everyone is socially distancing.

We are closely monitoring attendance and young people are booking slots in the sessions. If you're interested in coming along, send Emma Rigby Cyn a message!

We're all very excited to provide this safe space for young people to hang out and meet up with trusted youth workers, right in the heart of the city 🥳

What we are doing to protect our young people, staff and visitors from coronavirus

Following the most recent government advice, we are now closing our open access youth work sessions in order to protect against the spread of coronavirus.

We are also cancelling room and venue hires to avoid mass gatherings in our buildings.

The Station is now open only for pre-booked appointments, Monday-Friday, from 9am - 7pm.

At Creative Youth Network our one to one advice and small group sessions are ongoing for the time being. Our youth workers are also ensuring that we are using telephone conversations and video conferencing instead of face-to-face meetings as far as possible, with young people who have access to either of these options.

This is a rapidly changing situation. More details are available below and we'll keep you up to date with new developments 👇

https://www.creativeyouthnetwork.org.uk/blog/covid19-update

Here at Creative Youth Network, the safety of young people, staff and visitors to our buildings are our main concern.

33% of people in Bristol are under 25. Youth services are where we find comfort, security and guidance. Support the people, places and programmes that make us smile 🎉🙌👏

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Held in Pockets" is a spoken word poem by young artist Leeza Awojobi. It compares the comfort and security one finds in youth services to the comfort and security of a pocket - something you hardly notice, but which is necessary. These ‘pockets’ are dotted around the city and help young people to grow into maturity and affirm them in their journey to adulthood, helping them to be secure and ready to take on life’s challenges.

This video is presented by the partnership in Bristol which is a collaboration between Acta Community Theatre, Creative Youth Network, Empire Fighting Chance, Travelling Light Theatre Company, Young Bristol and Youth Moves.

This project is supported by funding from Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and The National Lottery Community Fund

This short film is based on young people's views from across partners organisation and has been produced by Eight Creative Agency, a team of experienced professionals working alongside emerging creatives, championing diverse talent.
