Well the cats are here now. Three of them seem to be fine………. Fin however is under the sofa and won’t come out!

These women that surround me are amazing. They are dedicated and so hardworking and invested in providing quality……. Something that By Arrangement strives to deliver. This week has been incredibly busy with regular orders to fill but also 3 substantial weddings requiring hiring of a large van (thank you Hannah) and many days worked……… not to mention the 6am starts.

Chloe, Gail, Kara, Abbie, Hannah, Zoe ……. Thank you thank thank you. You’re all just brilliant and By Arrangement would not be what it has become without you.

And finally - I’m in my new house and actually sleeping in it now! Ready for casualty to start. Quite a bit on unpacking to do still and pictures to hang……… but I will take my time. Weddings are my priority of course.

This is a huge achievement for Jade as she will be attending the UK Finals along with the other 4 finalists in this New Talent Colorist category on the 29th July, where they will be announcing a bronze, silver and gold winner 🍾 🤞🏻

So, today was big move day. I darent go see what the new house looks like. I’m too exhausted and I think it might make me cry! 😂

This is my little cosy corner.

But I’m staying here a few nights to keep my 4 boy cats safe and calm. Once I’ve unpacked and made my new house less chaotic there will be cat trees, new toys, cosy beds and yes the dreaded litter trays (I detest them). Only at that point will they be taken to the new house. There they will meet. Pop can go in and out as he pleases. My 4 can’t for 2 weeks. Tricky!

And so it begins……..

After a quarterly staff meeting we packed away the papers and the food and bubbles came out. Thank you to all my lovely team for contributing to a really productive meeting and for starting the big birthday celebrations with the me.

May be 60 in 2 weeks but not retiring any time soon! Busier than ever and with lots of new By Arrangement adventures on the horizon. None of it possible without Tracy, Hannah, Abbie, Kara, Gail, Zoe and Chloe. My right hand women.

Planning day. Flower lists; hardware lists…… all done well in advance of weddings. Double triple checked. Venues and churches liaised with re timings. July is going to be busy busy busy!!!! 2 down and 8 to go!!

Today it was a Scarthin Books trip. Apparently 6th in a list of the 10 best bookshops IN THE WORLD. An annual pilgrimage that I’ve been doing for about 40 years. Sometimes I’m compelled to come twice a year. Even on a day trip - it’s THAT good.

Books sold; books bought; lunch eaten. Perfect way to spend part of a day……….. well it would have been rude not to buy anything!

Some gorgeous hat boxes that left the studio recently. Well done Tracy and Hannah - just gorgeous. Hat boxes are a lovely way present floral gifts as they are in water already and there is a keepsake once the flowers have faded.

Here we are in the woodland……….. and we see a fine specimen of georginaicus daughterus in her favourite habitat. After chopping lots of wood and creating fire she can often be found sipping hot chocolate enjoying her surroundings.


Seriously…………. This wonderful person is beautiful both inside and out. Thank you darling girl for your help over the last few days with moving house and building stuff! And sorry I had a bit of a moment on Tuesday night. You’re a very special hooman and don’t forget it!

Sometimes life is tough. Sometimes you have a shockingly bad day and frankly lose faith in human kindness and decency. Tonight I really didn’t feel like going to flower club. But I’d made my arrangement so what a waste that would have been and it took ages for me to plait that palm leaf!!!!

Oh my goodness am I glad I did!!! Cheered me up no end. That has to have been THE most amazing flower demo I’ve ever seen. David Thompson is a national NAFAS demonstrator and was entertaining, informative and so generous with his flowers.

The cherry on the cake was that I won one of his arrangements.

And the cream on top was I won the Advanced class with my arrangement.

Equilibrium restored. I’m thankful for the good kind souls in my life and those that enrich it; and I have no space for those that seek to hurt and leech the goodness out of people.
