Forget-Me-Not Celebrations

To say we are beyond devastated is an understatement. On Sunday we discovered wood worm downstairs. So the entire floor has to come up, joists seem ok but will need treated. We're also going to need a new kitchen. We haven't even looked upstairs yet... And insurance doesn't cover wood worm! On the plus side, we'll have enough firewood for about a year.😭😢😥

I have officiated lots and lots of funerals in my time as a celebrant and I can honestly say I have never been so moved, or felt so privileged, as at the beautiful celebration of the life of a wonderful lady called Patti this week. Her lovely family helped me immensely with the wording of the ceremony, making it entirely personalised and incredibly unique and moving. I send them my sincerest condolences on the loss of their beautiful wife, mother and friend.

Happy Friday folks, I'm thinking of getting a tattoo to represent me and my business. So, I chose forget-me-nots as my logo as I love them, and I also love birds, particularly hummingbirds, so was thinking of combining the two. Here are a few pics taken from Pinterest that I like. I officiated a funeral on Monday this week for a lovely lady who had sadly died aged just 50 years old, and her family sent me this really lovely compliment which they have agreed I can share;

Hiya Lesley

I just want to say a huge thank you for today you were absolutely amazing.

And you completely summarised my auntie it was amazing.
The perfect balance between humour and grief.

I'm missing my auntie a lot and I really believe that she was at that funeral with us laughing along with us all.

And I thought you would be pleased to know that after years of not speaking my auntie's son approached her partner after the funeral and they had a hug before leaving which is amazing as they haven't spoken in years.

Her son said it was because when you mentioned in the speech that she had died before making amends he wanted to reach out to her partner.

I've just had the best day! It's been agreed that I will now be the sole celebrant to write and officiate all of the public health funerals for Durham County Council. What an absolute honour! 💞👏🏻🤩

I made up some little treat bags to give to my ever so busy funeral directors. Hopefully they will enjoy them and in turn remember me and maybe send some work my way.
