Hello Everyone!!!! Just a reminder that our next CHEAP AS CHIPS TABLE TOP SALE is TOMORROW (Wednesday 21st August) from 10.00am - 12 noon here at BARLEY MOW VILLAGE HALL. And ENTRY IS ABSOLUTELY FREE!

And you'll find Barley Mow Village Hall directly behind the Barley Mow Pub on Bedford Avenue. Plus we're fully accessible and children are very welcome. And, if all that weren't enough, we'll also have tea, coffee and refreshments available!

Easily reached by public transport (bus #21 from both north and south) and ample spaces for car parking too!

Bingo, Warm Spaces, Free Food, Good Company, Lovely Venue and it's happening TODAY!

If you've not been to any of our wonderful bingo sessions in the past then why not rectify that? Lots and lots of lovely folk come along to Barley Mow Village Hall every Monday to take advantage of our Warm Space, meet up with others, make new friends and perhaps win a few quid too!

Our next Bingo session of 2024 takes place TODAY (Monday 12th August) and every Monday (except Bank Holidays and the Festive Period) afterwards for the rest of the year!

Doors open from 12.30pm with eyes down at 1.30pm. A lovely atmosphere in a fabulous environment with warm, friendly folk. Just what's not to like?

Entry is ONLY 60 PENCE (which also gets you a free hot or cold beverage) and you can play from as little as 50 PENCE.
PLUS.... our Bingo Session is ALSO a Warm Spaces where we provide FREE HOT FOOD!

And, as with everything we do here, all profits go towards keeping Barley Mow Village Hall open and delivering vital services for everyone in our community.

A FEW PLACES STILL AVAILABLE!!!! There's a FINAL opportunity for local young people, of senior school age, to join this wonderful FREE programme. To do so you need to be at BARLEY MOW VILLAGE HALL at 10.00AM on TUESDAY 6TH AUGUST. And that is TOMORROW!

ATTENTION LOCAL YOUNG PEOPLE WHO ARE INTERESTED IN PHOTOGRAPHY/ TAKING PHOTOGRAPHS THAT REFLECT/ RECORD THEIR LIVES!!!!

Barley Mow Village Hall and Birtley Community Centre have accessed some money and teamed up to deliver a photography project with local young people! If you are a young person of senior school age, and would like to tell a story that reflects your life in the Barley Mow/ Birtley areas, then we'd like to hear from you.

The project is called 'A DAY IN MY LIFE' and we're looking for a few more local young people in School Years 7 - 11 who would like to participate. As the name suggests this is a project about local young people taking photographs that reflect their lives and their communities. The project is completely free of charge. Photos to be taken using mobile phones and/ or digital cameras.

Two sessions have already taken place but there is another which will take place at BARLEY MOW VILLAGE HALL on TUESDAY 6TH AUGUST AT 10.00AM. Barley Mow Village Hall is directly behind the Barley Mow Pub on Bedford Avenue. Feel free to bring along a parent/ guardian or carer if you wish, come along with a friend or just come along on your own.

If you know someone who you think might be interested then please let them know.

We then aim to have an exhibition of the photographs, taken by the young people involved in the project, at both Barley Mow Village Hall and Birtley Community Centre. We also hope to exhibit the photographs more widely across Gateshead and perhaps beyond!

Hello Everyone! The result of the Barley Mow Village Hall 90 Draw for July 2024 can be announced! Hurrah!

This was drawn at the Monday Bingo Session of 29th July and the winning number, chosen at random by our bingo machine, was.....82.

The lucky winner was a member of the Ladies Friendship Group and she walked away with the not inconsiderable sum of £50.00!

We have just started our August 2024 Barley Mow Village Hall 90 Draw and numbers are selling quickly. If you would like to stand a chance of winning £50.00, and supporting Barley Mow Village Hall at the same time, then please feel free to pop in. Each number will cost you £1.00 and the 90 Draw for August will take place at the end of the month with the lucky winner announced here.

Each and every month there's a lucky winner of £50.00 whilst £40.00 goes towards keeping Barley Mow Village Hall open and continuing to deliver essential services for local people in the community.

Hello Everyone! A reminder that the fourth BARLEY MOW VILLAGE HALL CHARITY COMIC, SCI-FI & TOY FAYRE is happening TOMORROW!

SUNDAY 2ND JUNE 2024 from 10.00AM - 3.00PM at BARLEY MOW VILLAGE HALL.

FOR BUYERS/ FANS.....

We've kept the prices the same as the three previous Comic, Sci-Fi and Toy Fayres for both sellers and buyers and the prices are the cheapest for any event of this nature. Entry for buyers is only £3.00 for over 18's, £2.00 for those 12 - 17 and £1.00 for under 12's. And all proceeds go towards the running costs of Barley Mow Village Hall!

Hello Everyone! A REMINDER of an event you just might be interested in! Now ONLY ONE WEEK AWAY!

The legendary BARLEY MOW VILLAGE HALL CHARITY COMIC, SCI-FI & TOY FAYRE is BACK!!!!

Following on from the massive success of the CHARITY COMIC, SCI-FI & TOY FAYRES in 2022 and 2023 we are pleased to announce that a fourth of these will take place on SUNDAY 2ND JUNE 2024 from 10.00AM - 3.00PM at BARLEY MOW VILLAGE HALL.

The 2023 Comic, Sci-Fi and Toy Fayre's were the biggest yet with halls full of sellers and over 350 buyers attending!

FOR SELLERS/ TRADERS....still a couple of tables available!
If you have comics, sci-fi material, toys and/ or related material you wish to sell then why not book a table? There are twenty nine tables (6ft x 2.5ft and supplied by BMVH) available on a first-come, first served basis and ONLY £20.00 EACH! That is extremely cheap in comparison to other similar events and we have kept the price of a table at the same level as that of 2022! A hall full of sellers of everything Comics, Sci-Fi and Toys! Plus raffles, a tombola plus hot food and hot/ cold beverages from the cafe! And every penny made goes towards keeping Barley Mow Village Hall open and delivering essential services. Which is nice.
Barley Mow Village Hall is situated between Birtley and Chester-le-Street and is easily accessible via bus #21 (South from Middlesbrough, Durham, Chester-le-Street and North from Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Gateshead) or car (with lots of parking for vehicles).

If you're a fan/ collector of comics, sci-fi and/ or toys then get this date in your diary. If comics, sci-fi and/ or toys are not 'your bag' then I'll wager that someone you know may just well be interested.
