We’ve just won another Gold Award from !

This was for our 2024 Devon Coast to Coast event, scoring an average of 4.77 out of 5 stars by our participants this year. Thanks to everyone who took the time to leave us a review.

A few people mentioned the spacing between aid stations / checkpoints, so in 2025 we’ll be adding a few more. In addition to our 4 indoor and 2 outdoor existing aid stations, there will be a further 4!

Read the reviews on our website and join us in 2025!

Something we’ve been thinking about for a while, and now here they are!

This year, we are slowly moving away from metal medals shipped from the other side of the world. These beautiful solid oak mini trophies are made by a small family businesses, right here in the South West.

For our remaining events this year, most distances will have an option to receive one of our existing medals or one of these wooden trophies. This is just one of the steps we are taking to be a little more sustainable.

Display them in your house, or use it as a coaster on your desk at work to let people know that you do cool stuff on your days off 😎

Who’ll be the first to collect the full set?

Our Jurassic Coast trophies are double faced, with the event logo on one side and the distance you’ve completed on the other.

For now, we’re continuing with belt buckles for all of our 100+ mile races, but this is under review for next year.

We are looking for a few extra helpers to work alongside our team on the Jurassic Coast event next weekend. This could be anything from a couple of hours to a full day, helping at one of our checkpoints / aid stations. Volunteers will receive a discounted or free race entry in return for their time.

Positions available:

Nothe Fort, Weymouth, 4-9pm 22nd June
Sidmouth, various time slots all day 23rd June
Exmouth, various time slots all day 23rd June

If you live closer to another part of the course, we could also find you a job somewhere else. Please contact us for details.

Thanks, Justin.

Introducing 7 more people to our South West Trident Club 🔱

Membership of this exclusive club requires a finish within cut off times at all three of our longest races.

These are:
Devon Coast to Coast
Jurassic Extinction*
North Coast 110 miles

We have decided to discontinue the original 120 mile Jurassic Extinction, but this name has now been given to the 105 mile race that replaces it. This is the new qualifier for the South West Trident, so we now have some extra finishers joining the club!

The following people have completed all 3 of these races.

1, Adam Mulholland - North Coast 110 miles 2020
2. Chris Gill (left) - North Coast 110 miles 2020
3. Graham Willis (left) - Devon Coast to Coast 2022
4. Robert Bramall - North Coast 110 miles 2022
5. Liza French - Devon Coast to Coast 2022
6. Wiebke Lammers - North Coast 110 miles 2022
7. Bea Griffiths - Jurassic Extinction 105 miles 2023

Adam was the first person to compete the challenge of completing all 3 races. He won the North Coast 110 mile race in 2020 on the wettest day on record for Exmoor! He was followed a few hours later by Chris Gill.

Liza French was the first female to complete the challenge with her finish on the Devon Coast to Coast in 2022.

Congratulations to you all! 🔱

The early bird catches the worm.

Up before the birds on Saturday for the Welsh 3000s. A 4:30am start and 3 peaks ticked before 8am. Howard and his team of walkers on the summit of Snowdon. Just another 11 peaks to go! ⛰️

I’ve been guiding the Welsh 3000s regularly since 2001, when I first ran the route. Since then, I’ve lost count of how many full traverses or multi day attempts I’ve worked on. It has been an absolute pleasure to develop this further over the last 9 years with the Climb South West family.

“Tough” and “challenging” are words often used to describe anything from a muddy 5km run right through to climbing some of the highest mountains in the world. The Welsh 3000s is a genuinely tough and challenging day out, and not much easier if you choose to do it over 2 or even 3 days. It does, however, take you through some of the most beautiful mountain scenery that the UK has to offer.

Massive thanks to the team last weekend for their hard work, long hours and support throughout the duration of the event.

Planned dates for next year are 7-8th June 2025.

What a spectacular weekend in Snowdonia for the Welsh 3000s Challenge. The weather was a little grim pre dawn for the start and Crib Goch, but it got better and better as the day went on for our sub 20hr teams! Unfortunately, the rain returned for the second day of the 2 day challenge, but they got the job done! 💪🏼

Congratulations to everyone who got involved this weekend and big thanks to the CSW team.

For anyone walking the South West Coast Path or taking part on the Jurassic Coast 100 (all distances) next week. There has been another cliff fall at Ladram Bay. A short section of the coast path has been closed off with a new diversion in place. This has been clearly marked by the caravan park and is easy to follow. It adds very little extra distance.

We’ve updated the route on our website.

Our teams at Foel Fras, the final peak on the Welsh 3000s challenge before descending to the finish.

The single day teams had an incredible evening over the Carneddau range. The runners made it down in time for a BBQ in the sunshine and the walking group reached the last summit just after sunset.

The two day group had very different conditions today, with heavy rain and strong, bitterly cold winds. However, they got the job done 💪🏼

Congratulations to you all!

We ran the Lyme Regis to Seaton undercliff the other day in both directions. It’s still a technical section through the “lost world”, with lots of steps and tree roots. There have been significant path improvements over the last year however, with lots of Ash trees removed too. The “marmite” section for some, but maybe now they’ve sprinkled a bit of sugar on it! 😅

There is a “Road Closed” sign roughly 1.5km from the Lyme Regis end. This is for vehicles only, but it is definitely open for runners and walkers!

We checked out the Pinhay loop as part of this run. Although it’s not actually on the South West Coast Path or our event route, it’s well worth checking out if you are in the area! 😍

Not long to go now until the Jurassic Coast 100 and Jurassic Extinction. Entries close next week.

He’s done it again!

Richard Meston took on our North Coast 110 Mile race in 2022 and wrote a book about it. “Buckle Down” is so much more than just a tale about a long run on the coast path. Grab yourself a copy on Amazon and read all about it.

Last year, Rich completed another one of our 3 big races, the Jurassic Coast 105 mile race. Guess what.. he wrote a book about it! Now available in paperback from Amazon.

He’s entered the same race again this year, so he must have enjoyed it! The race is now called the “Jurassic Extinction”. Get yourself a copy of “Running with Dinosaurs” and find out more. It’s also available for Kindle.

Maybe Rich will return in 2025 and run the Devon Coast to Coast, completing the South West Trident. He might even write a book about it! 🔱😃

Good luck to Matt Dalton as he takes on the Wild Horse 200 mile race in South Wales today.

Matt has completed all of our longest races, and some of them every single year! If he isn’t running, he can usually be found helping out somewhere. It looks like he’s found a bar already, so I’m sure he’ll be fine! 🍺 🍺😂
