Prop Hire Scotland began in 2013 based in a small industrial unit in Sprinburn, Glasgow and like our first purchase, Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors, we've been growing ever since. In 2019 we acquired the scenery hire business owned by our colleague and friend, Jack Murdoch. We already have a variety of sets in stock and are in the process of building new sets to add to our catalogue.

2020

saw us move to a more spacious site in the Whiteinch area of Glasgow to accommodate our increasing inventory. Visitors to our premises have always described it as an “Aladdin’s cave”. Our team is highly knowledgeable and skilled in Stage Management and Props. Our experience means we understand your needs and can give you professional advice to make your production or event shine under the spotlight.

The 10th Anniversary of putting our Santa House into Celtic Park. We’ve still got one more panto before Christmas (oh yes we do!) but have a very Merry Christmas from everyone at Prop Hire Scotland.

Cinderella shall go to the ball! A busy few weeks prepping for lots of pantos, followed by a brief moment of calm before we plunge into the 2024 season! Thanks to all our customers, colleagues and friends for their support this year!

We've had our Little Shop of Horrors plants out this weekend, which feels fitting as it marks 🎈🎉 10 YEARS 🎉🎈 since we got the keys to our first unit and Audrey II was our very first prop.
It’s been an amazing decade of providing props and scenery services to our customers and we’ve loved working with such an amazing bunch of incredibly creative and talented people, both on stage and off. Long may it continue!

Merry Christmas from all of us at Prop Hire Scotland. Thank you so much to all our customers this year. It’s been a such a busy 2022. It’s been great to see so many of you returning after the pandemic and we’ve loved meeting all the new people we’ve been working with for the first time. This is our last set out before Christmas but we’re not quite finished for the year yet with a trip to The Steamie next week.

We’re on our way to a fantastic start to the spring season! Thank you to Ayr Amateur Operatic for the opportunity to provide their bespoke set for Sunshine on Leith. Today was mostly spent being spooky and ooky with EROS at the Village Theatre East Kilbride building the set for their production of The Addams Family (click click). And we’re busy prepping for our next major set and props package. Sunflowers! Incoming! Calendar Girls for Runway Theatre Company in early May and available to hire after then.

Had a great day helping to set the stage for the NODA Scotland conference at Peebles. It was lovely to catch up with familiar faces and make some new friends. We were able to showcase some of our old sets and give a sneak preview of our sets in production including Calendar Girls.

The 70s have phoned and they want their chair back. They can’t have it because we’re adding this beautiful peacock chair to our retro furniture stock.

It’s been a hard knock year but it’s great to have been back in the workshop over the last few weeks building a set and making props. Even more excited to be actually loading a van and doing a get in. Good luck to Imagine That Performing Arts with filming their production of Annie at their studio in Airdrie.
