Our second focus is on Lady Rose Duo. Lady Rose Duo wowed us last year so we invited them back.

Lady Rose Duo is an award winning husband and wife duo from Nottingham.
They recently joined Alfie Boe and Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox as support for several of their UK tour dates, performing at some of the country's most prestigious music venues.
The pair cover most genres from across the decades, performing with a combination of Acoustic Guitar, Ukulele, Electric Guitar and professional backing tracks for an impressive, full band sound. Check them out on the link below.

Spotlight on our opening ChrisFest act:
The Winter Singers have built up an outstanding reputation and have performed all over the country and around Germany.
Performance venues include Lincoln Cathedral, Southwell Minster, along with many local and village churches for services, charity events, concerts and weddings.
They toured Germany extensively between the years of 1965-1995, singing in churches and cathedrals in Zweibrucken, St. Augustine (Grantham's twinned town), Altenburg, and then into the former East Germany around Leipzig. They have won many competitions due to their outstanding musicianship and beauty of sound. They took part in The Choir of the Year competition, and have had several finalists in the BBC Choirgirl of the Year competition. They have also featured on BBC Radio Lincolnshire frequently over the years. ChrisFest are excited to be welcoming them onto the big stage on the 12th October at Grantham Cricket club to open the festival. The Chris Maslin Memorial Rally kicks off on Friday 11th October with three awesome acts. The awesome I, the Failure will be opening the evening with their debut performance, followed by the very talented young Sam Bickmore on the drums and headlining with the phenomenal Skeleton Crew. Whenever we went anywhere with Christopher he would often get distracted by taking pictures of exotic or unusual cars, so we make sure not to miss the opportunity in his memory. This stunning Mustang was spotted in Santorini this week amidst all the little hire cars, scooters and ATVs. We also hired a corsa in his memory to get us around the island all week. He is always with us and in our thoughts no matter where we are or what we are doing.

Music was a big part of Christopher's life, whether it was from the booming stereo in his car, the portable speaker he played whilst in the shower - the whole street knew when Christopher was having a shower - or the music he enjoyed in the pubs and clubs. This is why we have developed ChrisFest as part of the Chris Maslin Memorial Rally . It doesn't matter where you are going, what you are watching or what you are doing, music creates the atmosphere and the ambience. It evokes emotions and brings back memories. We are currently sat enjoying our last night in Santorini with a Greek night. We may have been a little quiet this week as we are currently soaking up the Greek sun. However, our networking never stops. We got chatting to a country star from one of the cruise ships yesterday, Chrissy Mac, who was performing alongside a host of Irish country stars including Daniel O'Donnell. He left this message for some huge country fans of ours and promised to consider performing for us at future events. Watch this space.

And that's a wrap on this month's car meet. Thanks to everyone who came along for supporting us in our endeavour to make our rally in October as spectacular as we possibly can! We've had wonderful weather and with the addition of Ashley on the music this month, the atmosphere has been electric. The sun is shining and today is the penultimate Chris Maslin Memorial Meet of the year before our rally in October. We would love to see as many of you there as possible, showing off your cars, bikes and trikes. Remember, Christopher was a fan of all vehicles whether they were classic, exotic or modified. This was his true passion and we hope to share it with others who are as passionate. We meet from 5pm. Food and drink will be available in the pavilion. This weekend I'm (Chris's dad) away with the MV truck racing team at Donnington park. Truck racing is as exciting to watch as it is to take part. It's a great day out for the family with loads going on and with other racing events here and a huge truck show. There's loads to see and do, and the paddock is open to the public so come and see us at work. Although it's not officially confirmed we are hoping to have the race truck on show at the rally.....watch this space😀

One of our Christopher's biggest passions growing up was gaming. He even built his own gaming PC and after spending year 10 work experience at Grantham Computer Centre, he secured himself a Saturday job. The three charities we have chosen to support this year have been given much deliberation and consideration. Our aim is to honour Christopher in a way that he would have approved of. The charities we support have to have some meaning to ourselves and Christopher. Firstly, we are continuing to support the Support and Opportunities fund for Grantham District Scouts as this will enable all young people within scouting to access a wide range of experiences and camps even if their family is struggling to meet the cost of living. I honestly believe that the amazing opportunities that scouting gave our Christopher helped to shape him into the amazing young man he was and we would like to offer those opportunities to many other young people in the community. Secondly, as a family we learnt that the unconditional love of a family pet is so important, especially when you are autistic and struggling to convey your emotions. We were lucky enough to adopt two amazing dogs from RSPCA Radcliffe and Christopher loved his dogs. Therefore, we are excited to be supporting this amazing charity who do so much to rescue dogs and give them their forever home. Finally, we have been working hard to find a drugs charity that delivers what we believe to be the right message - prevention rather than cure. We have come across the DSM foundation, a charity that was set up by parents who lost their boy in the same tragic way we lost our Christopher. Speaking to them has made us realise that we are not alone. They offer drugs education in schools and youth groups and highlight the reality of the dangers of drugs. We hope to be working closely with these amazing people in the future and we are happy to support them. This event is very much about creating a lasting legacy for our Christopher and raisng awareness. By spreading our Christopher's story we hope that young people will think twice about giving into that peer pressure, and consider the tragedy that has unfolded for so many.
