Apologies to our friends, customers and followers….you may have noticed that things have been a little bit quiet on our socials.

Unfortunately my Dad has been very poorly for the last few months and he sadly passed away in August. I’ve been busy planning his funeral, so my posts on here have taken a back seat.

The funeral is tomorrow, Wed 4th Sept. The shop will remain open for walk-in sales and collections but we cannot make any deliveries. I’m sorry if we let anyone down but there’s only so much we can do and family comes first this time.

Normal service will resume on Thursday and I’ll get back on here again soon with some Fleur de Lys florals.

I can’t even say that she’s the shop dog as she causes mayhem whenever she comes in🙄

So that’s the 1st National Florist Day done ✅

A day to recognise the growers, buyers, drivers, wholesalers, florists and everyone else that is involved in the floral industry 💚

Thank you to our floral friends who popped in to the shop today for their free posies, we hope you enjoy them over the next week🥰

It’s been an absolute joy to get out on the street and hand over the “one to keep-one to give” flowers….there is no better feeling than giving flowers….it really has made our hearts sing 💜💚

To the 1000 fellow florists who have taken part in this campaign, I truly hope you’ve had as amazing a week as we have 💜💚

Tomorrow is the very 1st National Florist Day and to celebrate all things flowery we thought it would be lovely to meet some of you with botanical names!💚💜💚💜

In the run up to Saturday’s first ever National Florist Day we are getting excited to hand out some freebie flowers 💜

We wrapped up some purple carnations (purple & green are the NFD colours) and headed off into St.Georges Square to spread some flowery love.

We gifted 2 flowers to our unsuspecting public…1 to keep and 1 to give to a friend, passing on the joy of receiving a flower “just because”💜

We’ll be out and about tomorrow too….will you be a lucky recipient of our floral magic?💜

We are joining 1000 Flower Magicians when the flower industry comes together on Saturday 8th June for National Florist Day💜

This will be the first ever awareness campaign for the floricultural industry. We will be celebrating all that is wonderful about flowers and the florists that showcase the skill and magic that goes into it!

We are lucky to have the most amazing customers and are thankful that they have chosen us to say so many things with our blooms….
I love you….I’m sorry….You are amazing….sorry we can’t be there…
You really can say it all with flowers!

There is so much more to the floral industry than people think and we will be showing you some behind the scenes footage so you can see what happens! It’s way beyond just playing with flowers!

These are my absolute favourite variety of peony 💕

They’re called “Coral Sunset” and they give an amazing show every single day as they change from cerise pink to pale peach. I can hear you thinking “they’ll never do that” but honestly, they do.

Congratulations to Paul at Blue Sky Baker.

From market stall to one of our fabulous shops on Crown Street. This guy puts in the very early mornings and long hours to create beautiful bread and tasty treats.

It’s been 10 years since this adventure began on Halifax Market. The bake could take anywhere between 9 and 12 hours, to make 20 loaves. Now maybe it’s just the systems I have taught myself it’s certainly easier. Well 9 ovens, 4 mixers and Yorkshire Tea help. I have met lots of amazing people along the way. But one thing for sure without your support I wouldn’t be doing the thing I love. Thank you to you and my team and remember every time you support a small business you keep people’s dreams alive.❤️

It seems to have been quite a while since we posted some plant photos. We’ve not had loads in stock over the Winter as it’s been a bit chilly overnight for them.

But now that Spring is here and it’s getting a bit warmer 🤞 I’m going to start splurging on the buying again 🥳

We have some gorgeous plants in this week, including a beautiful Calathea Orbifolia (1st pic) with its stunning stripy leaves and it’s a cracking size too-definitely a statement plant 🪴

Mother’s Day 2024

Rachel, Sue and I would like to say a massive thank you for supporting us and buying your flowery gifts from us.
We worked our socks off to ensure your wonderful Mums/Grandmas/Mother-figures received the treat they deserve.

We had fresh flowers arriving every day, which we unpacked and conditioned so that the flowers were in tip-top form for you. We love what we do and we hope that it shows 🤍

Your support really does mean so much and we appreciate every sale, from a £3.99 Dinky bunch to a £100 showstopper bouquet. It’s you that keeps us on Crown Street and able to keep open our door to you.

How good does it feel now the mornings and evenings are getting lighter?🌞
I’ve noticed the snowdrops and crocus in full bloom on my walks and the daffodils are just starting to poke through aswell.

If you want to bring the outside indoors then these Spring planters are just perfect. Enjoy them in the house and once they’ve flowered they can be planted outside for a full show next year🌼

Whilst I’m here….just a little reminder that it’s International Women’s Day next Friday 8th March and Mother’s Day on Sunday 10th March.

We stock almost every fragrance of St.Eval candles and as new ones arrive there are some that have to make way for them.

Cucumber & Black Pepper became one of the discontinued fragrances last year but as we know it’s a favourite for some of you, we bought up extra stock.

However, we are now down to single figures of the candle tins, refill oils and tealights. If you want to grab your last chance of experiencing these then you’ll have to be quick. When these have gone…..they’re gone! 🕯️
