So this year things are going to be a bit different. I’ve decided that for the first time in 6 years I’m taking Christmas off. After the last 18 months of family bereavements, I need a break. I need to rest and I need to just breath.

I’m saying no this year.

No workshops, no corporate installations, no bespoke orders, no house decorating.

But I am saying yes too. I’m saying yes to spending time with my family and my friends. I’m saying yes to decorating my own house, enjoying the season and I’m saying yes to healing.

I really need a chance to get myself gathered again. I hope you understand. And in the works of a wise man

So on Sunday morning, quietly before everyone was up I picked up my scissors and started to create my Fathers casket flowers. It felt peaceful and calm. It was a joy to make. I had almost forgotten how I much I love creating with flowers.

No matter the relationship we may have or have not had, there is nothing really to prepare you for making the last flowers for family. It is in the truest sense a privilege and honour to do so.

You know those times when life gives you lemons? I currently feel like I have whole lemonade stand at the moment. Scrolling on my phone for hours to distract me. It’s not productive, or particularly good for me. But I can’t bring myself to read. I’m due to go away very soon for a much needed break in the sun, and due to my lack of concentration for reading I’ve bought a couple of sewing kits. Inspired by the beautiful grid of I’ve treated myself to not one but two kits. I’ll keep you posted on how I get on with these.

But for now wishing I could photograph like the utterly brilliant

We are now back from our Iceland adventures. I’ve not picked up my phone for a couple of weeks as we’ve needed the extended break. I’m working through messages both on my page and personal profile. Mr Amanda Jane Flowers and I are in Yorkshire today so bare with whilst I’m on and off the wifi and we’ll get back to you all very soon.

Well what a fabulous day! Wreath making with some utterly wonderful ladies at . Kim was a fabulous host as per and everyone who attended made fabulous wreath. We even helped out some ladies who had their workshop cancelled today and it was our absolute pleasure.

Some of you might have noticed that we are not retailing this year. This has been deliberate. For some time I have been struggling with pain in my hands. I’ve ignored it. Pretending that it would just go away. But yesterday morning at 8am I had the news that it’s arthritis of the both sorts. I thought it could be, as we have quite a bit of it in my family but I was still in a bit of shock. But it does mean for me that the change in focus into teaching workshops is most definitely the right move. I adore seeing what people create and how much they gain from just being with natural materials and finding the beauty in the seasons that surround them. Last night it was my absolute privilege to be back running a workshop for some of our absolute favourite group of creatives and it was just the tonic I needed. Which brings me to this weekend.

The big wreath making extravaganza. I am so looking forward to the next two days full to the brim with wonderful workshop attendees making stunning creations.

I will make some time after the weekend to update all our workshops for Q1 next year. I’m so looking forward to it!

Oh my goodness. You are all amazing. I can’t thank you enough so all the messages of love and support that I’ve had over the past 24 hours.

So a promise is a promise and a live wreath demonstration of our much loved, much admired and coveted Silent Night wreath will be happening very soon.

My wonderful friend, and hostess with the mostest Kim has offered to have us at her stunning Sussex farm house, and you never know we might also have a very special guest making alongside me. I’m so very excited and you are all so wonderful. Dates and times to be confirmed very very soon!
