Hello Facebook.. I've not been here for a while (is anyone still here??). You're asking 'whats on your mind' so here goes..

I'm spending the morning working on our Spring weddings. Which kick off in a few weeks time. Excited to be returning to one of my favourite ceremony venues - Orleans House Gallery.

A beautiful venue with the stunning Grade 1 listed Baroque Octagon Room. Set in beautiful gardens overlooking the Thames. There's a lovey cafe and of course the contemporary art gallery which has regular exhibitions and events.

I loved using these incredible mustard roses with pale pinks and some deep burgundy dahlias too.

It was an incredibly hot day but the setting in the marquee, down by the weir was just wonderful.

Astrantia

Or as I’ve always called them, little flying saucers. 👽

I first spotted these perennials at a flower show many years ago. I can’t recall if it was Chelsea or Hampton Court Palace - but I thought they were just fabulous.

And I now use them a lot in my designs and arrangements. I love how their little heads bob about, especially in bouquets.

I snapped this fella, who clearly loves them too, the other week.

Delphium

I LOVE delphiniums and have been using them in arrangements for sometime now. Although those who know me well also know the stress they can cause. 😬

Some love 💕 being in an urn, some would rather stayed in bed (of the flower kind) than play ball. But we all have days like those don’t we?!

I’ve never seen stems this huge before. And just loved how their colours blended effortlessly into each other - like a watercolour painting.

Making a note to have more in my garden next year and ban all slugs & snails 🐌 (if only).

Capture

During another sleepless night I decided to have a good look through the images 📷 I’d taken last week, in and around the wonderful flower farm of Green & Gorgeous 🌱 and would like to share a few with you all.

Even though I studied photography when I was 17, and have always loved it. My confidence to even hold a camera has faded a lot over the years.

So it was really lovely to have a little hand holding from and I’m pleased with how some (not all, I’m still re-learning here!) turned out.

So if you’ll indulge me a little 💕 I thought I’d share a few of my favourites over the next few days.

Starting with this composition of blooms growing by the side of a poly tunnel.

Hello July

The second half of the year is here - it’s all going so fast isn’t it?

This is pretty much my last free weekend until mid September as wedding season kicks off in full force for Myrtle & Smith.

Lots of fabulous weddings coming up at some great venues in and around Richmond and London.

Some beautiful flowers from last weeks event. A gorgeous mix of seasonal British blooms and some buttery roses too.

Icelandic Poppy

Stealing the show a little bit here.. but if you looked this good you’d probably want to stick your head above the rest of the crowd.

These incredible flowers were all grown about 6 miles from my home. And smell incredible too. I had the pleasure of meeting Hayley and I have already placed an order for more of her amazing blooms for a small event I’m flowering next week.

These ones though are for me to enjoy at home. How lucky am I?

Happily Ever After 💕

Love this beautiful shot of J&J on their wedding day a few weeks ago. What beautiful details on her dress too.

Hope you’re all keeping cool. I’m having a play with some gorgeous British flowers today whilst the paddling pool fills up.

How incredible is this shot. Jade & Tom tied the knot at the wonderful Orleans House Gallery back in April and all the bouquets, buttonholes and table decorations were created with just foliages.

This wonderful picture was taken by Calvin Chinthaka or Fabulous Weddings. And I've just added it to my gallery on the website.

Line up please

Every bouquet I create has a list of ‘ingredients’. And each one is carefully laid out on the table before mixing them altogether.

It was wonderful to be able to use so many bold and bright colours for Sarah’s bouquet. Which I’ll be delivering later this morning.

Intimate celebration 🤍

Weddings and celebrations don’t have to be big. An intimate gathering can be just as wonderful. Especially when the location is as beautiful as in France.

Last week I had the pleasure of creating a few set-ups in the amazing Studio space at Margot. For this elegant and simple look I used white and green flowers and ferns from the surrounding land.

Lottie and I then draped some beautiful cheese cloth across the beams to create a really cosy and elegant area for guests to enjoy her amazing, seasonal food in.

What’s not to love?

Shadows

Wild flowers creating beautiful shadows against that amazing blue. It’s been so wonderful to share stories of my week with my family and friends. Apologies for all the gushing.

I’ve a calm week ahead - but will be getting stuck into planning my orders for two weddings at the end of the month and catching up on some admin.

First plan for the day is a nice walk with Smithy so we can catch-up.

For Margot 💕

What a week. The past seven days have been incredible. I’m actually a bit lost for words.

Lottie & Jean Marc, this bunch is for you. Nowhere near a big enough thank you. For your unbelievable love, warmth, passion, friendship and hospitality.

I’m leaving today (not before lunch and a little brocante mooching of course!) a little lighter in my mind. Focused. Stronger and full. Not only of incredible food and fresh air. But of inspiration, life and love.

I can’t wait to get home to hug my boys. All three of whom I’ve imagined here. Chasing lizards (that’d be Smithy), messing in the river and soaking up the air.

And I’d be lying if I didn’t say I was little sad to be leaving. But not too sad as I know I’ll be back with the boys before you know it.

So thank you L & JM - what a lucky girl I am. You are both so incredible and have achieved so much here already. It truly is a magical place.

Oh and to Silvie & Napoleon 🐱 🐱 - thank you for keeping me company every night. I won’t tell Smithy how you slept by my feet. 😉

jusqu'à la prochaine fois 😘 Xx
