Yesterday was our little name sake’s birthday party.

Our daughter Isla Blue is fondly known as our family weirdo, she is unapologetically herself,, she loves dinosaurs, worms, sea creatures and if you scroll to the very last picture you can catch a glimpse of the birthday girl herself - in full fish costume for her party 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

She had the best party and I have hands down made a little children’s party dream team right here 👇🏼

Venue - EMEC - East Middlesbrough Events Centre - when you’ve got a decor theme in mind, there really isn’t a better function room - perfectly neutral!

White Bouncy Castle - The Perfect Bubble never a second thought I needed this particular bouncy castle purely for the aesthetic 😍🙌🏼 it’s huge, colour coordinated balls and I could match it to our decor!

DJ - Aqua Entertainment, again never a second thought, Stu is soooo good at what he does, gets all the kids dancing and dances with them ❤️

Cake - Need A Cake Middlesbrough, Katrina always makes my cakes, always amazing!

Welcome Sign & Prints - Say It With A Print these are such a good idea!! We do welcome boards and signs but I loved these themed personalised boards soon as I seen them and such a good price!

Food - big thank you to our lovely friend Kayleigh, won’t let me tag you but she made the best children’s buffet - all the little chocolate spread sandwiches and nibbly bits just for kids exactly what I wanted ❤️

And of course ourselves for the decor - there ain’t no party like an Isla Blooms Party 🙌🏼 ive even managed to hang giant jellyfish from a 30 foot high ceiling 🤣

Thank you so much to everyone who came too…

Considering the theme she actually asked for was ‘crabs’ I’ve managed to end up quite girly for her!! Even if she was dressed as a puffer fish the entire time with not one single **** anywhere to be seen 🙌🏼🤣

The very beautiful Redworth Hall from a couple of weeks back, heartbroken I didn’t get more pics it was absolutely beautiful, my phone died as soon as I took the first pic and you wouldn’t even believe the weekend I had that week…I’m just glad I got 1!

Our first time dressing this beautiful venue!

If you’re crazy over the little details…this is the venue for you! We met our lovely bride to be for her planning meeting a while back and ended up with a grand tour of the venue, it is literally breathe taking! The chandeliers, the features, the symmetry, the dior chairs, the bridal suite with its perfectly spaced mirrors!! even the toilets!! Every little detail is pure perfection, Ian, the owner has thought of everything, even down to the black out blinds for the skylights for summer weddings so you still get that evening party feel even on light nights! A real hidden gem and only 25 minutes away so definitely one to add to your view list!

It was an honour to be able to provide some decor for a celebration of Frankie’s life yesterday.

The amount of people there and the atmosphere of his wake was unbelievable, everyone singing ‘Sweet Frankie James’ is something I’ll never forget - still gives me goosebumps 💙

Something so tragic that makes you ashamed of where you come from to then yesterday seeing a full community celebrating one of their own makes you actually proud 💙

✨ 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐁𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 ✨

𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭…

You may have noticed the page has been much quieter than usual the last few months. When our busiest wedding season finally started to quieten down at the end of last year I was totally burned out. 5 children, unresolved PTSD and an extremely busy business along with mam guilt for missing so many weekends with my children - I was soooo tired.

We took Abi on as a trainee manager and I spent a few months showing her the ropes with balloons, events and eventually weddings and we’ve kept the page a little quieter whilst she’s found her feet and I’ve had a very much needed break.

She has blown me away 🥺 she is just turned 19 years old and I’ve never seen such a mature head on young shoulders. An absolute born leader, she can lead a full team, manage every single aspect of whatever jobs I’ve thrown her way and the amount of comments I receive from venue’s, staff, other companies about her is just unbelievable. Her passion, dedication, people skills, organisation are years ahead of her!

She managed a full team of staff and SIX weddings whilst we went on holiday, the second pic is how the driver found her on Sunday morning at 8am having a nap in the unit after setting up a wedding all through the night 🥺

So…as of today, once I’ve finally received the confirmation through …Abi has now officially become a Company Director alongside us.

We had considered selling a share of the business to bring somebody else on board and lighten the load on us so we could spend more time with our family and it has been the easiest decision I’ve ever made to give that share to this amazing young lady - what she brings to me & Isla blooms is worth more than any amount of money ❤️

We are looking for a couple of local event/wedding companies looking for a bit of extra work or maybe to gain some experience with wedding decor! We have a few dates we’d love some help with and potentially lots more to come!

Jobs will be setting up our own luxe ranges of decor although you’ll of course be free to take pics and use them for your portfolio!

In 2018 I found a lady on Facebook selling the most beautiful flower arrangements, I pestered her for about 6 months but she was so busy (because they were amazing!) so eventually I had a go at making my own.

I became quite good at them once I got the hang of it and started advertising them as table centrepieces for weddings. That’s where Isla Blooms began.

5 years later, we’re one of the biggest wedding & event decor companies in the north east, we’ve decorated hundreds of weddings and been part of the biggest days of so many people’s lives.

This morning this incredible lady sadly lost her battle with cancer. She probably never knew that she was my inspiration in the very beginning 🥺

Tanya Ballan you never knew me, you’ve never even spoke to me in person and yet you were the catalyst that started my business.

I had to post this on here to show how someone, just by being themselves can affect the course of somebody else’s entire lives and they probably will never even know about it 🥺

✨𝐀 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 …✨

The last few weeks I’ve had our new Trainee Manager in learning the ropes! Everything from weddings/events/shadowing meetings - Our lovely Abi is only 18 years old 😳 she has been here before I tell you!

Abi was a dancer at my daughters dance school since being tiny, always known for how hard working and self sufficient she was but she has even shocked me 😂

Our admin is pretty much up to date, lots of you will of had your wedding meetings with her over the weekend at The Treebridge and she is an absolute social butterfly so always happy for a chat.

As a mum of 5 semi feral children it is so difficult to give enough attention to all of the parts of Isla Blooms I’d like to make amazing, and so having Abi on board to pick up especially on the social side of things is a breathe of fresh air - let’s just see if she can survive an Isla Blooms Wedding Season 😂🙌🏼
