"The performance had a magical quality about it, the musical conversation between the artists, the ability to let their instruments not only talk to each other, but to make the spellbound audience the third member of the trio."

Throwback to Calefax Reed Quintet's brilliant concert at the Festival. A particular highlight was their brilliant choreographed rendition of Gershwin's An American in Paris. Plus we were thrilled that they chose to perform Florence Anna Maunders' piece, Dropp’d Hard, and even more pleased that she was able to be there to introduce it.

Did you hear BBC National Orchestra of Wales performing Barber's moving Adagio for Strings on BBC Radio 3? It was performed in St Nicolas Newbury during the Festival in 2019. It was dedicated to the memory of our Founder and President, Jeanie, the Countess of Canarvon.
