For those of you that still follow this page just thought I'd let you know that I am doing some Christmas door wreath DIY kits for friends and family. I can do extra if anyone wants one!! They need to be collected on Saturday 2nd December. Send me a message if you'd like to order one. They come with everything you need to make one and a link to a you tube video with instructions how to do it. They are £40.00 each. X

Huge delivery of flowers arrived this morning. Mandy and I have made up all of tomorrow's collections and deliveries and are now resting, so we are bright-eyed and bushy tailed to start making Sundays orders tomorrow. All delivery slots are now taken, but collection tomorrow or Sunday morning is still available. Order through the website if you still require flowers for the weekend.

Moving on in life and making the right choices is never an easy decision for anyone. Ever since I qualified from floristry college 1988, it was always my ambition to set up my own business. Six years ago, this dream become a reality when I opened The Reigate Flower Hut.
After a lot of deliberation, I have decided to retire from flowering, and the Reigate Flower Hut will be closing on the 31st of March 2023.
Setting up The Reigate Flower Hut, working in a purpose-built summerhouse in our back garden and growing the business into a full time, seven day a week job (which is now taking its toll!) has only been possible because of my family and friends who have supported me. Working with flowers has never been a “job” to me, it has been something which I have passionately enjoyed. It has simply been an honour to have been part of the very special occasions, bringing smiles to people on their wedding day, birthdays, anniversaries or just a simple “hello” through the COVID era, when a bouquet was all it took to make someone feel better. Equally, being responsible for funeral arrangements during a very personal stage in people’s lives, has meant more to me than words can describe.
Whilst I look forward to preparing flowers for the weddings which have been pre booked for 2023, I will look back at the time I spent with The Reigate flower Hut and the wonderful people I have met.
It’s now time for the next chapter in my life where I will enjoy spending more time with my lovely family.
Thank you once again to all those who have supported me over the past six years I couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you!!

The humble white chrysanthemum, the staple flower for a vast percentage of my floral tributes, used by florists far and wide for lettering, hearts, pillows, cushions, wreaths and countless bespoke designs.
This seemingly insignificant little bloom is currently the cause of much stress, anguish and worry throughout the florist community.
Why you ask? In the last few weeks, the cost price of this flower has increased by over 50%, it has more than doubled, almost tripled in the last year and it is increasing every day. Chrysanthemum, traditionally known as a ‘cheap’ flower is currently far out pricing premium flowers such as roses, lily and lisianthus (which has also doubled in price recently!).
Due to the rising energy costs some growers have gone out of business, some growers have turned off their hot houses halting production and those remaining few have had to pass their rising overheads on to us, their customers. The demand currently far outweighs supply and that’s for all colours and varieties of chrysanthemum.
I have tried to keep my prices steady for as long as possible but in the face of it, I have no option but to raise them otherwise I simply won’t have a viable business myself. I am looking at cost effective alternatives and will always guide you through the options as best I can. If you have any questions regarding this, any concerns or worries then please do get in touch, I'm always on hand to help where possible.

Well, as 2022 ends and 2023 begins, I would like to wish all my lovely customers, friends, and family a wonderful, happy and healthy new year. Thank you all so much to every one of you that has supported me over the last year. You have no idea what it means to me 🩷.
There will be a few changes to my working hours next year, but I will let you all know over the next week or so.

Pre-ordered Butterscotch tarts are now all done !! Collection is tomorrow from the side gate of 22 Castle Drive, Reigate, RH2 8DQ.
I will be sending a group message to everyone with collection details.
If you have prepaid, collection is between 8am and 8pm.
If you are paying by cash, collection is between 8am and 6pm.
Any tarts not collected after this time will be offered to the people on the waiting list. See you tomorrow 🥧😋

Mandy and I are sooooo busy in the Hut and kitchen today with lots of lovely Christmas bouquets being made up and delivered, table decoration orders being made, and 100 butterscotch tarts 😲.
Mandy has made up some table decorations with the spare Christmas foliage and bits and bobs, so if anyone wants one as a centre piece for the Christmas Dinner table, they are just £20.00 each!!

Just another reminder that the pre ordered Butterscotch Tarts will be ready for collection from 8am on Friday, Thank you to those that have now paid.
Those that have paid can collect between 8am and 8pm, those that are paying cash need to collect NO LATER than 6pm if they are not collected they will be offered to the ever growing waiting list!!! This is so I don't have any left over!!

Another busy weekend at The Flower Hut, I have a class at home, packing the car up for tomorrow's workshops at Leigh Village Hall, getting more DIY kits ready for collection/ delivery and starting the preparation for next week's funerals and my lovely cousins wedding on Friday (I'm closed on Friday 9th in the morning as the wedding is out of the area).
