The world of running your own business means you wear every hat. I love it. You make the calls that are important and you learn from your failures. As my sons says, every day is a learning day! It can be overwhelming and lonely. Finding likeminded individuals and groups to bring me up and I them, is so important.
Had dad told me I’d be running my own business, I’d have told him he was crazy. 🤪 Fast forward and he was far from crazy.

My motivation has been down this week, so it was time to pick myself up and spring clean my workspace and mind. Reminding myself why I started this business and why I love creating meaningful faux floral arrangements for my customers 💕💐 🌷
After my dad passed away my life was turned upside down and backwards. But I didn’t fully realise it at the time. 6mths later when I did, I knew I had to stand still and change things in my life. One of which resulted in me trading my 20+ year career in London to follow my passion. I now curate meaningful faux arrangements for funerals, graveside tributes, wreaths and bouquets. Seeing the joy and memories they bring to my customers is amazing. But it’s not always flowers and ribbons for me. The pain of grief is still real. So having time to still stand still is important. So now having a workspace to inspire me and feel connected to dad has given me a boost I needed 💕
To anyone living with grief, be kind to yourself. To anyone with a friend or family member dealing with grief, don’t forget to check in on them no matter how long it’s been. The loss never goes away. Keep your memories close and never let them go 🥰

After loosing my dad, my world was upside down. I took the leap to stand still, resigning from my great job in London and amazing colleagues to focus on me, my family and reassess the priorities in my life.
It were as if the stars collided. I took the opportunity to join the Rebel Business School free 2 week course on starting a business. I didn’t have an idea, a name, a logo, any customers or understanding of how to build a business and brand. From day 1 I knew I’d joined something special. The tutors were amazing, I meet so many fellow liked minded people with great business ideas and the energy was off the charts 💥 By the end of the 2 weeks I had a business idea, a name, a logo, an idea of my customers, the tools, tips and resources to bravely move forward and I started my Instagram channel! Faux Floral UK was born!
6 months on my life is so different in so many ways. There are hard days, days I wish I could talk to dad. But there are amazing days, days I think wow I did that and I’m able to share it all with my mum 💕
Thank you to everyone who has supported me. To my boys, to my mum, my friends, those I’ve met at markets, suppliers and all of you who have shared, liked, commented and bought from me.
Who knows where the path will go over the next 6mths. Let’s see!

Those who know me, know I’ve always been a bit of a rebel 😜 But it was 6mths ago I started my Rebel Business School journey, and oh boy it hasn’t disappointed.
I’d never contemplated having my own business before. It always seemed way too scary. But something had changed. The stars had aligned 🌟
Following my dad passing away I traded in my London job to stand still for a while and re-evaluate my life’s priorities. Through taking that time and the support and confidence The Rebel Business School provided, I took the leap to start Faux Floral.
There are scary days, amazing days, teary days (happy & sad tears), confusing days, exciting days - but they are all days I feel ultimately I’m now doing what I should be doing. And I know my mum is proud & my dad would be too ❤️
