We as a team are so close to hitting our fundraising target.

If you could spare a couple of quid in aid of Cancer Research UK and help us slide around the mud this afternoon (forecast: more heavy rain just as we set off! 🙈🤣), we’d be so grateful.

It was extremely lovely to go see my son’s piano teacher in concert tonight.

What a stunning venue, too.

A real event with real people and real music … I missed this so much. So glad events are back and hopefully here to stay.

WHAT DOES A GIRL HAVE TO DO TO GET SOME BUBBLES ROUND HERE?! 🙈🤣🤷🏻‍♀️

As of 4pm today I can say that in the last 2 weeks I

👰🏼‍♀️🤵🏾 oversaw a wonderful wedding

👶🏼 did ops for an in-person (woohoo!) fertility exhibition in Munich

👩🏻‍💻 👨🏼‍💻🧑🏾‍💻👩🏼‍💻 put on 4 client events to audiences ranging from 90 Fortune 500 companies’ CEOs to 3,000 industry leaders from all over the world… 3 of these events this week Tuesday, Wednesday and today 😳🤯🤪

All I want is some fizzy (and my bed). And someone stole the bubbles out of my bottle 😭🤷🏻‍♀️🤣🤣🤣🤣

Ah well. Everything is figureoutable as I like to stay … fresh bottle it is! 🤣

Just a few pics from a beautiful day yesterday.

In my 21+ years planning events, this goes down as one of my favourite ones ever.

From start to finish, it was pure joy working with the lovely Emma and Sahil, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a more loving, humble and relaxed couple.

It was an honour to help bring their vision to life, and make sure that they had nothing to worry about on the day - so they could enjoy every moment and bask in the love and happiness that surrounded them all day.

One of the main reasons I love working in events is meeting so many amazing people.

Clients, delegates, exhibitors, suppliers... I am so lucky to be the one to bring all of them together during successful events.

It’s hard to get on my trusted suppliers list, but once you’re on there, I am proud to recommend you far and wide.

Like the fab team at 🍹🧉🍸

Their cocktail kits have made many a virtual and real networking event a calendar highlight, and they work just as well at conferences and award events as they do at wedding receptions and special occasions.

It was nice to receive another sample pack today - everything from mixers, fresh ingredients, quality gin and even the shaker included, not to mention a selection of matching snacks! - to showcase to clients for upcoming events.

Guess I’ll best get shaking! Watch this space 😁🥳😋

Occasionally, I agree to do a private function as opposed to my usual business events.

And every time I ask myself why I don’t do this ALL THE TIME?

I had a lovely site visit with a gorgeous bride and groom-to-be at the weekend.

Their venue left me breathless.

Clients often search for the polished look right from the start.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting perfection, be it for your wedding day, a conference, a product launch - every event day is a SPECIAL day in my book.

But it takes a special couple to choose a raw beauty like this barn and see what it can become with just a little magic touch here and there.

I’m already dreaming of what this blank canvas will look like on their big day...

I know they will love what it becomes because it will be all theirs.

I feel very honoured to be part of their journey to a magical destination and their happy ever after.

I have a massive client event next week, and I CANNOT wait.

I took on the project only 3 weeks ago and at the time it seemed an impossible task: an online conference, with, ummm, no speakers.

With my 20+ year experience in running successful in-person and digital events, most of my clients come to me late because they suddenly realise they need a pair of safe hands.

And, I have to confess, I thrive on it!

I’m happy to say that, not only will we be going LIVE next week with a full contingent of fantastic conference speakers (thanks to the team’s contacts), but all speakers also know exactly where to be when, how to present what, and have been supported to get the most out of their participation.

Running a conference is a fine balance between making sure your delegates get to see worthwhile content and your speakers get to feel looked after and valued, too.

Never neglect either side! Be it digital, virtual, hybrid or in-person: your participants’ experience will make or break your event!

Events in 2021....

I have organised events for over 20 years... I love the buzz, meeting new people, seeing it all come together before your very eyes.

I suppose, it’s really not that different doing it virtually for a while.

We still get to put on top notch events for our clients.

We still get to meet great speakers and help make them feel at ease with the technology and audience. (They have to bring their own water though). 😉

We still get to deal with unexpected little glitches (it’s what I love about my job - the problem solving haha).

I salute our audiences who have accepted to learn from and interact with a screen.

I salute our speakers who have perfected an interesting, informative, innovative presentation / discussion style without ever being able to really ‘read the room’.

Humans are resilient. We keep calm and carry on. We make the best of any situation. I salute us all.

(And despite all that, I continue my personal countdown to when I see you all again in the real world!! Because although I like digital events... I LOVE real ones!)
