The HopBarn is a centre for contemporary culture in rural East Nottinghamshire. It is also a micro residency for artists of various disciplines.

Explore our programme to discover arts, music and nature. The HopBarn provides an isolated venue for dance, drama, music and performance research, residencies and small scale performances. The barn is a group of converted 17th Century agricultural units that were once used for the storing of hops for the brewing industry. It is attached to a self-contained accommodation space allowing 24 hours uninterrupted access to the research space.

Yesterday The HopBarn caught works by Fred Tschida at The ^rt House in Wakefield, a series of ‘Light in Motion’, ephemeral drawings in the air which only reveal itself in time-lapse video. Unfortunately we couldn’t experience Circlesphere as it was closed to public on the day. It was really mesmerising these revolving curves accompanied by experimental live music performance. Who Knows Where the Time Goes written by Sandy Denny and performed by the #juliejulyband as part of the Fotheringay Tour…. Fantastic to hear live music once again!
