Dahlias and daisies

It's been a very hot day in the garden but lots of jobs to do. The greenhouse has had a clean before sowing the hardy annuals and the usual deadheading and disbudding to do. My garden assistant had other ideas and while I was distracted she decided she needed to investigate the vole tunnels under the strawflowers 😬 This isn't the first time so I will seriously be considering docking her treat ration and demotion 😁

When you are cutting dahlias it is important to look out for sleeping bees 🌸🐝 I put this one on a single headed dahlia to feed and warm up.

Finally we got some much needed rain! I thought you might like a look at what is flowering at the moment. Lots of beautiful dahlias of course but there are some lovely softer peachy tones from cosmos, chinese asters and the floret zinnias which have just started flowering. Ending up with the tallest rudbeckia ever. I hope you enjoy it 🌼🌸🌼

Most of the dahlias are flowering now but still a few of the new ones still to come. Such beautiful colours, something for everyone! 🌸🌼

The dahlias are finally here and will be included in the mixed bunches and bouquets 😊🌸 Lots more still to bloom with singles for the bees to enjoy 🐝
