A reason to try to avoid coloured gazebos and marquees if you are doing an outside job where the client is providing cover..... all the faces in this case had an orange glow!....and the light colour paints look different under coured gazebos.

Usual Painty Fun...Demo's, games,fun challenges buy and sell table, ( please let me know beforehand ) Raffle, Childrens paint comp with prizes,etc etc A chance to meet old painty mates and make new ones.
This is always a lovely relaxed and friendly jam....perfect for every age and every level..... from painters who have been around a Looooong time ( like me lol) and also new painters who maybe just starting out...and anyone who loves to learn , paint or just chat
Please bring a contribution to a shared lunch...
(and YES! there WILL be PAVLOVA! ) LOL .

As we start to come into spring in the UK and covid is still about ( albeit not so deathly for most) I am taking more a d more bookings and enjoying the magical interaction with children. Here are a couple of recent ones( first one was a simple Oo.pa Loompa for my grandsons world book day haha....but nice even base all the same haha

A big day tomorrow. After 45 years we are moving from Harpenden....but only to Welwyn. So all face painting requirements will still be met depending on my availability. Get in NOW to book for Halloween as it's going to be busy this year!. I travel all over UK...so not just local. :)

Slowly and cautiously getting back to painting those lovely little faces. Letting their minds and imaginations return to things that are fun and make them feel happy....not all about masks and germs and viruses.
I am.....however.. keeping those things very much at the front of my set up in order to protect my clients and myself. Please contact me if you are considering allowing a little more normality back into your little ones lives....birthday or other family event. ...and would like to chat it all over..just leave your message or email here or pm me...and I will get back to you ASAP. Little steps....but they are little forward steps....and cautious ones at the moment.

Really hope I am able to start face painting again sometime this year. I cannot personally see it being possible or safe to do so until most of the population have had their jabs....so prob later / mid Summer....but I will be ready with my brushes sponges and paints when it's safe and practical to do so..
Just a little more patience needed....and boy will we all be ready to have parties and events again at that time! Taking provisional enquiries from July 1st onwards.

Along with all other Professional face painters...I am not able to work at the moment and missing painting all those lovely little faces SO MUCH
Please think of me when wondering how to celebrate once we are back to normal life ahain....whenever that might be!
Street party....belated birthday party....family gathering or corporate event that had to be put on ice?.
Please ring and we can put a provisional date in once we have an idea of when that might be....I am taking provisional dates only at the moment for obvious reasons....and only from OCTOBER ONWARDS .
This will be reviewed as information from government and health advice is updated.-.even if the current lockdown is lifted sooner. I have ALWAYS and will continue to put...the Health and safety of my clients...their children....and myself as a top priority.
I do hope to hear from you....and that you are keeping safe. And to any of you who are key workers...esp care workers and NHS workers. Love and gratitude.###

I have been face painting 30 years this year.....many things have changed.... the internet being the main addition. Plus many new products.... one strokes...stencils...bio glitters...different styles and ways of achieving designs. But the old ways still stand up.
Good blending...decent linework.... Pli insurance and only using cosmetic grade and safe products ( and knowing the difference). Make sure that whoever you book for your event has those too....whether they have been painting 30 days or 30 years . Enjoy .

Just a heads up...to other painters and anyone looking to book a painter.

I have removed all the non cosmetic tested uv paint from my kit !

Until I have only cosmetic grade tested uv ( such as Grimas) I will no longer use any other brands uv unless it has passed the only cosmetic approved test for the Uk...1223/2009.
Most brands ..even those sold as "face and body paint' are NOT FOR COSMETIC USE. This has been a grey area for years...as retailers have not sepperated tbe uv from standard cols so people have in all good faith been using the uv thinking they are safe for skin use.
ALL pli providers now say that if painters ignore the manufacturers advice...and if it says " for hair / prosthetics only" then if tbere were to be a reaction by a client and the painter ignored that statemet they may not be covered if there were a claim.
This has cost myself and colleagues £100's of pounds and is a huge shame as tbe cols are fab. But
1. I care about the safety of my clients
2. If ever there were a problem I like to be assured I have full cover.
PLEASE
PAINTERS....look at your products packaging...esp the ( very small) small print
And CLIENTS please if you see someone using or advertising that they do UV. ASK Them if all their paint has the 1223/2009 test for cosmetic approval. Even if it does....but also says anything about being for sfx only.....be wary.
Note too that any uv red yellow or orange should never be used on the eye area....or uv blue or green on the lips ( it does say that on most pots but not all !!! ).

Half term next week in most of Herts....and Halloween on Weds too. I shall be face painting at Burston garden centre again in Chiswell green St Albans. 11am til 3pm. Lots of other fun activities too.

I had another lovely lady to a face painting workshop today. Carrie Link and her delightful daughter who modelled for us. Lots of line work practice....then put those elements into some designs. Very well done Carrie. Then I painted half a face of a tiger and butterfly....and an arm design that Carrie copied the other half....and did a good job too!

Really quiet corporate job yesterday....only 6 children pai ted in 4 hours. I dont think they had advertised it well. No pics as no permissions....tyli al eh? Upshot was it was me and the ice cream seller next to each other. She said I could ha e any throughout the afternoon....so i had four....one per hour lol. Organic icecream and skrbets....strawberry chocolate choc mint chip a d ma go sorbet.....as well as full payment. I am at another of this companies events next week.....bet tbey will be swamped lol
