The Woodlands Flower and Arts Festival is over. The combination of fragrant flowers, beautiful arts, diverse craft and produce stalls, as well as homemade cakes has made the event a resounding success.

All money raised (total to be finalised) will go towards maintenance, renovation and restoration of the historic Grade II listed Woodlands Church of the Ascension. We are so blessed to have such an amazing and historically significant building in our village.

We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all the flower arrangers (especially children) and arts/crafts exhibitors at the church, and all the craft/produce stall holders at the village hall. Without you, this event would not have been possible.

Special thanks go to:
• Woodlands Church of the Ascension PCC members and Woodlands Village Hall committee for collaborating to plan and prepare this event.
• John Radford for adding the joy of live organ music to the event.
• All who set up the church and the village hall, and then packed it all away!
• The cake makers and everybody who served the cakes and teas / cleaned the tables / did the washing up.
• The stewards at the church, who welcomed people and entertained them with stories about the church history.
• The generous donors of our raffle prizes and all who sold and bought the tickets.
• Storeafile for providing additional parking space.
• And most importantly, a huge thank you to everybody who came along and gave generously. Your support is invaluable to us.

Many of you had asked if and when there will be another Woodlands Flower and Arts Festival…
Ideas are currently being discussed. So, watch this space!

If you would like to get involved in the planning, organising, running and generally supporting any of the future events in Woodlands, please message us. We would love to hear from you.

If you came to the recent panto or Harbottle & Jonas performance, you might have noticed that the hall had had an uplift.

Gone are the dark blue and pale magnolia, replaced by the soft greys. Thank you to P.Decor8 for their attention to detail and flexibility in working around our hiring times.

The stage has also had a refurb, making it perfect for the next panto performance. Thank you to Att Woodman Ltd ([email protected]/ 07920 796636) for donating wood and doing a fantastic job of reinforcing the stage floor. Thank you to Verwood Rotary for their donation towards this work.
