⭐️ Superstars! ⭐️

Our exams are just around the corner and our wonderful pupils have been working so hard! ❤️

We have been following the new exam syllabus this year and as we are the first school to do these new exams, we have the honour of Mr Kevin Page (CEO of the NATD) as our examiner! ⭐️

⭐️ Fabulous Foxtrot ⭐️

Evie is the youngest member of our dance school and at 3yrs old she is getting ready for her first exam! 💃

She's doing so well with her Foxtrot and has some lovely heel leads! 🤩

Well done to Lily (student teacher) for working with her over the last few weeks and to Sally (dance teacher in video) for getting her to the music. ❤️

⭐️ You're never too old for Virginia Reel! ⭐️

We have been doing Virginia Reel in our school for years and it is a favourite, even our Teens love it! 😅
It's a nice break from all the hard work they've been putting in working towards their exams! ❤️

As many of you know Lucy and Sharon are part of Marlpool URC Theatre Company, and they will be performing in their 40th Anniversary Concert.

⭐️Peer-to-peer teaching!⭐️

Over the last few weeks some of our older Teens have been trying their hand at teaching!

The class was split into small groups and each group were taught one of the Teen Hip Hop routines by our older Teens.

They have done a fantastic job! 🤩 Well done everyone, and such great teamwork! 👏

We've had a fantastic morning with our first classes of 2024! 🌟

It's great to be back and lovely to reminisce on our wonderful Christmas show! 🤩 We watched and performed the show routines, had lots of fun with warm ups, and started planning for this years exams.

Can you believe it has been a whole week since our show! 💜🤩

The first prize Sekonda watch has still not be claimed, so we will keep it until it is, or add it to our show raffle next year.

Next years show has been booked already for Friday 6th and Saturday 7th Decmeber. Xx

We are struggling to get hold of one of the first prize raffle prizes from the show as the mobile number on the ticket is missing a digit.

The name on the back of the ticket is Pauline. The winning ticket needs to have the same serial number as well as the main ticket number.

Any ideas?

🌟Grand total🌟

We have raised an outstanding £4344.37 for our charities this year, which are Air Ambulance and Eczema Outreach Support!

Penny and Darren, Violet's parents are so delighted with how much money we have raised, and are so grateful to us for doing the show in her memory. They have said Violet would be so proud 💜

A special thank you to Stewart and Helen at HSL Construction Limited for their generous donation of paying for the hall hire for the show weekend, to all the staff members who bought raffle tickets, and to Stewart for performing in our show.

Also a special thank you to the following people/companies for the kind donation of raffle prizes:
▪️ HSL Construction Ltd - A violet themed hamper, including a Steiff teddy
▪️Carol and Steve Aulton - 2 chocolate bouquets
▪️Whites Fine Jewellers in Ripley - A Sekonda watch
And everyone else who contributed to the fantastic raffle. The raffle has never been so big, with over 150 prizes per night!

A special thank you also goes to Jane, Neil, Amy and Jay for organising the refreshments and raffle, and to Rachel and Carol for their support, and to Steve and Carol for doing the lights. We couldn't do it without you all.

We would also like to thank Mrs Challand and everyone at Waingroves Primary School who bought raffle tickets, and donated raffle prizes.

And of course a huge thank you to our pupils, their families, parent helpers, and our wonderful team for your continued support and hard work.

It was our last lesson before the show tonight, and our Teens have worked so hard, as have all our pupils over the last few months! ❤️

Our show this year is in memory of Violet, one of our pupils who sadly passed away last year. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has contributed in any way to raise as much money as we can for our charities this year. 💜

Thank you to everyone who contributed and bought a cake, or tea/coffee this morning to help raise funds for Evie and Evie's volunteering trip to Morocco! 🧁☕️

The grand total raised was £150.50!

Evie and her mum Joy did a great job organising things this morning. ❤️

The cakes baked by Evie and Evie were absolutely delicious and our Rainbow parents asked if we can make it a weekly event! 😂 The children clearly enjoyed it aswell!

🌟 Dance show 2023 🌟

This year for our show we are celebrating the life of Violet, who sadly passed away last December. Violet's parents have chosen this year's charities.

Her parents described Violet as a fearless but sensitive person, who cared about everyone. She was very academic and had an amazing memory.

Her favourite artists were Little Mix, Rag'n'Bone Man and Anne-Marie. She enjoyed going to the cinema and watching musicals. She loved dancing and always wanted to do a solo in our dance show.

Violet always said that if anything happened to her, she’d come back as a butterfly or a dolphin.

Violet was a beautiful child, may she never be forgotten. 💜

Tonight it was Kelsey, Olivia and Katy's last class before they go off to uni! 🎓

🔸️Kelsey - Psychology at University of Sheffield
🔸️Olivia - Education at Newcastle University
🔸️Katy - Sports coaching at Sheffield Hallam University

All 3 have been with us since they were young, and they have been a pleasure to teach. They are beautiful dancers and we will all miss them in the Teen class.

We wish them all the best and I'm sure they will pop in and see us when we they can! 🥰

🌟What a night!🌟

Last night we celebrated our Presentation Dance and 30yrs of Sharon Bednall School of Dance. 💃🕺 We had the most amazing evening! Well done to all our pupils, and to those who received the Special Awards, and Achievement Awards!

Thank you to Sharon's husband, Tim for presenting the awards. It was Tim's mum, Pat that started the school 60yrs ago. ❤️

Huge thank you to Mrs Bouquet's - Manda Cartwright. Balloons and party hire for the decorations, the hall looked amazing!

Sharon would like to thank all those involved over the years who have helped to make the school such a success. And of course, thank you to all our current pupils, their families and our fantastic Team.
Now time to concentrate on our annual charity show!😁
