A fresh start in 2025, my student Evan Tsoi and I collaborated to create this exhibition piece at the “Panda Garden” event hosted by The Hong Kong Flower Club, located in the Forsgate Conservatory of Hong Kong Park. My design draws inspiration from the elegant style of traditional Chinese ink wash painting (水墨畫). The soft, flowing lines at the top evoke the appearance of clouds, harmoniously complemented by the fluffy pampas grass, creating an ethereal atmosphere. Within this serene setting, pandas crafted from statice playfully engage in a game of hide and seek among the bamboo, resulting in a tranquil yet vibrant scene.
Exhibition is open to public viewing till 14 Jan .

猗猗淇奧。喧赫君子。
騶虞重德。親之悅之。
與可雅意。子瞻頌詩。
節秉剛毅。茂傳風儀。
參差縱橫。舉翮爾時。
三千年前的詩歌《淇奧》以綠竹作比喻，稱讚有道德的君子；同時啟發了文同、蘇軾等文人為它寫詩作畫，傳誦千古。千多年來又以「騶虞」的美名稱呼熊貓，牠們亦以此為食，兩者具有相似的德性，亦是本作品的構思靈感來源。看！竹愈高，節愈實，身愈堅，縱橫交錯，與天比高，似待時而飛，是我們值得效法的榜樣。
此作品乃我學生Evan Tsoi 與我的共同創作，亦感謝友人特意為我們的作品題詩，古意盎然讓人更投入此作品的氛圍。

The inspiration behind this piece featuring blue floral elements stems from my immediate association of the color with the ocean and water. The elegance of water droplets and the graceful motion of waves flooded my mind, sparking ideas on how to encapsulate those sensations and movements in my design.
To capture this essence, we painted a series of circles with fluid acrylics to replicate the flow of water. These were then attached to a sturdy frame using blue paper wires. The bouquet evokes the likeness of jellyfish, with delicate flower strands intertwined with the circles.
