Overwhelming Response to Hockey Workshop for Toddlers organised by Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council in collaboration with Badal Hockey Club.
Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir: The recent Hockey workshop for toddlers, jointly organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council (JKSC) and the Badal Hockey Club, witnessed an extraordinary turnout and enthusiastic participation from young aspiring athletes and their parents. The workshop aimed to introduce toddlers to the basics of hockey, fostering a love for the sport from an early age. Under the guidance of senior players from the Badal Hockey Club, the little ones learned fundamental skills such as dribbling, passing, and teamwork.
The workshop emphasized the importance of physical activity, discipline, and sportsmanship. Parents and guardians actively supported the initiative, recognizing the value of sports in holistic child development. Mr. Sajad, a parent, expressed his gratitude, saying, "We are thrilled that our children had the opportunity to learn from experienced players. Hockey is not just a game; it teaches life skills and builds character.”
The Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council provided excellent infrastructure for the workshop, ensuring a safe and conducive environment for the toddlers. The commitment of senior players from the Badal Hockey Club was commendable, as they patiently guided the little ones through their first hockey experiences.
The overwhelming response to this workshop underscores the growing interest in Hockey among the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. The program will continue every Sunday from 09:30 am to 10:30 am at Hockey Synthetic Astro turf, Polo Ground Srinagar.

Winning & losing fine, participation important: Mudgal to sportspersons
JAMMU, Mar 26: Commissioner Secretary Tourism J&K, Yasha Mudgal-IAS inaugurated Khelo India Wushu Women’s League-2023 Sub Junior & Junior National Championship at Indoor Sports Complex, Bhagwati Nagar, here today.
The 6-days Championship which is being organized by Wushu Association of India in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS), Sports Authority of India (SAI) & J&K Sports Council will conclude on March 31, 2024.
While Ms Yasha Mudgal was the chief guest,
They were accompanied by Sh Suhel Ahmad CEO Wushu Association of India, Sh. Rajeev Sharma Member Sports Council, Sh Vijay Saraf, President Wushu Association of J&K, Sh Baljinder Singh, Chief Sports Officer JKSC, Ms Bhavneet Kour, General Secretary, Ms Mona Saraf, Sh Sharat Chander DySP .
Speaking on the occasion, Ms Yasha Mudgal lavished praise on the organisers for holding such events, which apart from helping youth to showcase their sporting, also help them not to derail from the mainstream.
She said sportspersons are the messengers of peace and harmony, adding that events like this help in eradicating drug culture from society.
While advising the young athletes to play the game with a sporting spirit, Yasha said that winning and losing is fine, but participation is important.
