Joel Thompson visited Bros for Change while he was in Christchurch
When the Sea Eagles were in Christchurch, Joel Thompson, on his day off, went to visit and speak to the boys at Bros for Change.
Walco Events arranged for the boys in the video to attend the Captains Run on Friday before the game and also provided complimentary tickets to attend the game.
Sky Sports produced this video and it aired in the preview to the Manly v Warriors game on June 9.
Developed by former New Zealand Maori and New Zealand Rugby League player Jaye Pukepuke, the purpose of Bros for Change is to give young people who have been labelled, a second chance to create real change through real talk with real people. Bros for Change creates self-esteem, self-awareness, self-respect and self-management and role models for the next generation from young people in intermediate school right through to more serious delinquent youth offenders.
This video includes ten 10-year-old boys from Haeata community campus. All are from disadvantaged backgrounds and a lot have very complex home situations. They are amazing boys and are halfway through the program.

Before Manly host the Warriors in Christchurch Johnny Tuivasa-Sheck headed on down to Christchurch to find out if there were any Vodafone Warriors supporters in the South. He went to Hagley Park where he ran into some local participants at a Year 5&6 Rugby League Gala Day.
