As a result of our recent expansions in business and service offerings, the UCSA’s Commercial department is excited to announce our newly established hospitality brand “ONGroup”. This new parent brand incorporates and ties together our various services under the ONCampus, ONLocation and ONPremise branding.

ONCampus Food Service specialises in large scale food such as school lunches, staff meals, tertiary institutes, accommodation, hospitals and rest homes.

ONLocation Catering & Events provides an exquisite catering and event management service to events of all sizes at Haere-roa Event Centre, as well as on-location catering.

ONPremise Retail & Hospitality looks after managing numerous hospitality venues and retail outlets.

ONGroup caters to education providers, workplaces, conferences and events across New Zealand in both the North and South Island. We have production kitchens in Hamilton and throughout Christchurch and over 20 years’ experience in catering and events. A catering drop we did at Ilam Homestead, a historic building of grandeur and elegance.
We served up some gourmet delights like Traditional finger sandwiches, Spinach and Feta scrolls, a Gourmet Cheese platter and a delicious Sweet platter. Bon appetit!

The ONCampus Catering team are very excited to welcome Christchurch Adventure Park (CAP) Cafe to our Retail team. Following more than a month of closure due to the impact of the Port Hills fires, the CAP café team reopened the café on 22 March together with ONCampus Catering now managing the Food & Beverage offering across the park.🎉🎉

CAP is an epic mountain biking, ziplining and sightseeing destination nestled into the Port Hills. If you haven't been there before, we highly recommend popping in and try our new menu which features a selection of great pizzas, gourmet burgers, salads and snacks. Our at-table ordering system has also proven very popular and helped reduce queue time during busy periods.

CAP Café is also available for hire for your next special occasion, workshop, network or team event. Large screen, projector, sound, and microphone are available.

After a special request from Chisnallwood Intermediate School to add Beef Burgers for their Ka Ora, Ka Ako lunch menu, the OnCampus team decided to do them one better and give them a hand on site in making their own burgers.

It was great to have 25 students prepare 550 burgers this week for their entire school. It was a fantastic way to get them involved and help them understand how much work goes into making these meals.

A huge thanks to our team for facilitating this special day and to The Hire Store for supplying all the catering equipment.

Wonderful to see our award-winning building, Haere-roa, receiving the praise it deserves. Designed to be multi-functional with 5 different event spaces on offer, Haere-roa successfully services students and corporate events alike.

OnCampus has been appointed as the new catering provider to both University Hall and Ilam Apartments.

Across these two locations, OnCampus will be catering three meals per day, seven days a week, to 700 residents.

We’re incredibly excited to begin working with UniLodge, the manager of these halls, and know that we’ll be able to deliver a fantastic service that further enhances the student experience at University of Canterbury.

OnCampus Profile of the day: Meet Melissa Rossouw.

Melissa is the newest member in the OnCampus team who has recently been appointed as one of the Catering Supervisors.

She has moved to New Zealand with her husband and two beautiful children from South Africa 4 years ago, where she has worked as a Catering Manager at the Business Lounge at Cape Town’s International Airport.

Melissa enjoys being outdoors while often hiking and camping and is also very passionate about baking in her spare time. It is her long-term goal to open her own European Deli, stocking and showcasing top products.

With Melissa’s vast experience in the Hospitality and Catering industry, we are excited to have her in our team in ensuring we deliver service excellence to our clients.

OnCampus Profile of the day: Meet Tiger Biddiscombe

The man behind all our lovely catering…

Tiger has joined the UCSA 8 years ago as the Head Chef at the Shilling Club after which he has been appointed as the Head Chef in the Foundry kitchen, also overseeing the OnCampus and Fine Afare Catering brands.

Even though his real name is Mark, he is known to everyone as Tiger. When asked how he got that nickname, he mentioned that there were so many chefs called Mark in one of the previous kitchens he worked in and because he likes cats, he decided to rather go with Tiger.

He loves music, Mini coopers and has experience in the cooking industry for 47 years. Tiger and his family immigrated from England to New Zealand in September 2010 and his dream is to retire peacefully on a piece of land in Akaroa one day.

Jana has joined the OnCampus team in October 2022 as the Catering and Hospitality Administrator. She is the first port of call for any client interested in requesting a quote or placing a catering order from OnCampus Catering and Events.

Jana is originally from Czech Republic and has been in New Zealand for 19 years. She enjoys surfing and yoga in her free time and has an absolute passion for travelling and exploring other countries.

With her social and friendly nature, she is committed to ensuring our clients receive top-notch catering and service from our team.

On Campus Catering & Events are pleased to announce that we have been successful in tendering for a new catering supply contract to Te Wānanga o Aotearoa in the North Island.

Beginning Tuesday 21 March, OnCampus will be operating a kitchen from within the TWoA campus in Hamilton and providing catering services to TWoA campuses in the Waikato region.

We’re very excited to begin working with Te Wānanga o Aotearoa and delivering the same great service we provide to our customers in Christchurch, in the Waikato!
